Sometimes people like that need to be tempered and brought down to reality. She's so used to my dad just taking the talk that she was in a bit of shock that I was talking that way. Yes, I respect my family, but I won't just shut up if I see something that I disagree with and feel it needs to be addressed.

My sister is getting married in September here to her highschool "sweetheart" AKA "I didn't date anyone else". I feel bad for him. She walks all over this poor guy all the time. One day, she took her boyfriend's xbox away from him because she said he played too much and because she bought it for him as a gift, she reserved the right to take it away LOL!

The only thing that concerns me about my girlfriend is she seems to not express her feelings towards me when they are negative. I can tell eventually and get her to talk, but it's always me doing that. She won't come out and say I'm doing something wrong or making her mad like I wish she would. I'm a pretty straightforward person so I'd appreciate it.

She's pretty indecisive too, so I end up picking a lot of stuff. I don't really mind, though. I just get worried that she isn't doing what she wants to and won't speak up like she should.

Other than that, she's absolutely great. I have a hard time thinking of complaints about her. It's almost uncanny how similar we are in many respects. I dislike drama and emotionally driven people who lack common sense. Somehow I found someone who isn't that way. I can say after 2 years of dating and 1 year of living together that I have no regrets.
One of my best buds is in a relationship like that. Been together since she was a freshman in high school and he was a sophomore. She OWNS him. Its amazingly painful to watch my boy be so incredibly whipped. The thing about people that are in relationships like that is that the lack of having had other relationship experience really hurts them in my opinion. He doesn't know that he can, you know, be a man and stand up for himself.

My brother and sister in law are like that (started dating in 9th grade i think, they are both 28 now) but he isn't whipped at all. I guess it depends on the personality.

Seeing a dude really whipped is painful to see....

          Keep your car clean!

I'm taking my wife's car into the dealer this afternoon for a small repair and I get in the car this morning and there is garbage EVERYWHERE! Coffee cups, pop bottles, coupons galore and tissues after tissues. I just cleaned this car out last week!

It makes no sense as she is so organized and neat in the house.

If you have kids and they travel with her most of the time i would assume they are the problem. my wife's care is always wrecked because of the kids.

Ummm she does know that one can get roaches and mice in their car if it is kept messy like that right ? Pop bottles, coffee cups, opened chip bags, etc attract bugs and rodents.

                I couldn't deal with a mess like that...and I don't know what I'll do if I ever have kids.

At 25 I sure as heck don't want them any time soon. I don't know how young parents do it!

Yeah you ahead of the game that is for sure with having a house at the age of 25. Not many people in their 20s or even 30s for that matter can say they have a house. Most people stay in apartments on up until their mid 30s to late 30s. Hell my parents didn't get a house until they were in their 40s.

I'm 31 and I am on my 2nd house. This house has way more yard, like 5 acres worth.

I'm 23. I see no point in getting a house until I'm married AND have kids.

Heck with prices of houses, time to get a house is way better now. The house I got now cost 100k less now then it did 3 years ago. With having a house, comes flexibilty. If you don't like it, you can get rid of it, change it, paint it, do what ever the heck you want to do with your house and yard.

But when you in an apartment, you can't do that. Plus nothing beats having your own drive way and garage. Hell I have so much yard I can park on my grass if I want, which I do from time to time when I am too tired to go into the garage LOL.

Great post. Better sooner than later. Lots of cheap real estate in the US right now, i'd be like a kid in a candy shop. I've already bought and sold 3 properties (2 houses and one apartment), paid cash for a huge elevated block of land with ocean views and am currently building my dream home. I'm 29 and started with nothing and have saved since i got my first job at 14 washing dishes. Being wealthy by the time you are middle aged is accessible to anyone, they just have to work at it and make it a priority.

Luckily i met my wife at university and she has the same priorities so that makes things much better than if i was the only one concerned with saving, investing etc.

Not trying to turn it into a house thread...to each his own. Their are pros/cons of anything and a house is included, as well as apartments.

I also have a roommate who pays me $500/mo for rent...so that's an additional $6,000/yr that I add onto my income. Of course my costs go up some but I definitely come out in the green. Also getting the $8000 tax credit was very nice.

But yea I could probably stay in an apartment for FREE somewhere due to my job.

                              Back on the topic...

My gf called me last night after her power went out and she was scared. I had to go over and check it out lol. In her defense the house she lives in is huge.

We should talk!!! I'm accumulating a good deal of capital with my secondary job to start investing and am looking for ideas! Property now sounds so appealing.
