Communication is always the key. One of the things that me and my fiance do is that when one of us is upset but doesn't want to talk about it, the other asks if they're ok, but add the word truth at the end. What it ends up being is that it starts open conversation about what's going on. It really helps, and it lets both of us get things off of our chest and be productive with them, instead of just letting it fester and blow up (which, of course, since no one's perfect, happens occasionally).

That's just one anecdotal thing, though, take it or leave it. I'm just glad you and your lady friend are doing better.

Well me and my girl went house hunting today which should be a good time, right? Wrong. We looked at one house which was really, really nice but, now here mind is made up and she wants that house. I want to look at at least 5-6 more houses but, she's afraid the one that she wants will be gone if we don't jump on it immediately. I told her if we lost it then, it wans't meant to be and I'm not going to make a life changing decision in one weekend especially after only looking at ONE house. Anyways, she's not having it. Now I have to spend the next few days trying to convince her to going to look at more houses

Hell no..........you should never settle for the 1st of ANYTHING you see. Whether it be a house, car or woman. Besides it is way more to a house then how it looks. You got to consider the neighborhood, school system, job market for that area, the type of stores in that area.

Then you have to think about the structure of the house and the yard. What needs to be fixed, needs to be replaced or put in. That stuff adds up.

Brother in-law rant. My wife's sister and her husband always inviting us over for dinner every damn weekend. And it don't matter what they cook, they ALWAYS have mashed potatos with it.

The thing about it is my brother in-law don't like lumps in his mashed potatos. Hell he don't even use real potatos, he always uses that instant crap that his move raised him on.

It got to the point I already told my wife, I be damned if I am going over there for thanksgiving dinner....I want real potatoes damn it LOL.

I like my house, but could've negotiated much, much better.

Something has to be said about that face to face... "Hey man...why don't we just have grits instead" lol.

Seriously though, if you don't voice your dipleasure w/ their menu selections in a tactful way then maybe it may be time for you to pick up the frying pan and cook meals.

Essentially this is what I did....I like my cooking better than my wife's... just don't show her this thread.

...even though she likes my cooking better too...

Then you can cook for your in-laws and do it in the comfort of your own home.

see my mother in laws cooking leaves a lot to be desired. I tried in the beginning, but this women is 40 something years old and can't cook. i just politely not eat some things and began not showing up for dinner. that was 13 years ago. she has gotten better, but your brother in law needs to step his game up. my inlaws have. you just need to make your own and bring it to the table and eat yours while everyone else eats the fake mash.

honestly there nothing worse than going on vacation with the inlaws . i got stories.

man my first family vacation i went on with the in laws was terrible, my 1 sister in law is a total Cee yoU Next Tuesday. Got pissed off bout my wife and her mother . My wife went to swing on her cause she was tired of her crap. her brother did nothing. Then this chick turns around and cusses my mother in law out. She goes crying in the other room. My wife tells me to chill that i can't knock her brother out cause of his wife. We end up leaving a couple hours after that. The family didn't talk til Thanksgiving this happen in July. I personal still want to punch her brother in the face, he talks to his mom like she's nothing , his wife talks crap bout everybody and no one says anything. I get pissed , cause my wife pleads with me not to do anything. FML
