      Re: Tornado Outbreak Discussion

231 confirmed fatalities thus far. This is definitely the worst severe outbreak since Super Tuesday and potentially worse than that.

I think that Tuscaloosa tornado was confirmed to be an EF5, as well.

This is the worst disaster to ever hit Alabama. I'm physically ill over this. I'm going home Monday to help out. I'm going to spend the week volunteering wherever I can in Tuscaloosa. I'm scared of what I'm going to see when I first reach town on Monday.

I don't think I've ever seen destruction like this. This is just terrible. Hope goes out to anyone in the area or with family in the area.

                    Man.....
                    Pretty bad.
I REALLY feel terrible for, of course, those who died and their families, but also the THOUSANDS and thousands hit very hard by these twisters.
I can honestly say that there are very few things that I fear....but if I saw that in person, I think I might just crap my pants.
God bless anyone who has to live through that....and hopefully you guys can get back on track and recover quickly.

I know they are talking about sending an F.D.N.Y. team there to help, I'm sure plenty of other cities are doing the same. Hopefully we can help in getting you guys back on your feet.

And I'm not trying to make light of anything here, but does anyone else think that thing in the lower right above the red car looks kind of like some sort of giant robot walking through the debris?

Been helping my neighborhood clean up some of this mess. My house has been turned into a makeshift hotel for some of my neighbors who lost everything. Amazing that this damage skipped my house and I even have power restored. Please say a prayer tonite for all of those who have been hit the hardest.

This is just... terrible. I was literally dosing off to go to sleep until I went through this thread. I'm wide awake now. I look at these pictures and I just makes me thankful for the life that I have. My friends, my job, my girl.... everything. Don't take take a second for granted guys. My prayers are with any and everyone who is somehow affected by this.

Glad you made it through it. What part of Huntsville are you in, I'm in the northeast part near Gurly? I didn't have much damage in my neighborhood, but we don't have many trees either. A couple neighborhoods over had lots of tree damage though. I skipped town yesterday and am staying in Auburn with my in-laws until the power comes back on or until power at my work is restored.

Here's aerial video of my poor little hometown.

                                <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CBnisypTrzM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You can see around the 3:23 mark a good shot of where I used to work. It's hard to actually tell how big that building is but, it's probably a little bit bigger than a Wal Mart Super Center, except the right side of the building is four stories. At the 6:40 mark you'll see the Elementary School followed by the Gym then the High School. So far, I know four of the people that were killed. One was my second cousin, one of my mom's close friends & both of a girl I went to High School with's parents. The whole town has been devastated by this and it won't ever be the same. There's still plenty of names that haven't been released or are still missing so, please continue to keep them in your thoughts.
