**** like Fat Joe and Paul Ryan are what ruined the dab. Kids doing it is funny to me, especially my guy who nailed condignly, he deserved it. Dude looked like he was under some stress.

I'm not going to lie... I'm almost 40 and in the past, I have dabbed after hitting a game-winning shot basketball game. I'm not proud of it now, but at the time it felt right. It's been a while since I've broke out that move though because I've adopted the Conor McGregor/Vince McMahan walk-off for my game winning shot over the last few months:

I feel like that one is getting a bit old, so I'm going to break out the Weekend at Bernie's dance on my next game winner.

The only dab I have ever found fun is the one where the kid is in the outside shower, flips a bottle and it lands standing up, and he dab slides on the tiles. That is GOLD.

What ever happened to the term "showboat"? Or better yet, the classic "French pastry?"

Seemingly simple words like February and Colonel. Also when I hear someone refer to lieutenant as leftenant. Man, half the damn english language grinds my gears. If it werent for the curse words, I'd have given up on english long ago.

This past week, my kids have been saying "You won't!" almost like egging someone on to actually do that something. It's kind of like in the "You know!" phrase fashion, only changing out a word. They'll constantly chirp it like the Finding Nemo seagulls though... it doesn't stop until somebody actually accepts the challenge.

Can't tell if it's annoying yet or not. I'd just say it should be used sparingly.

I'm better off with kids doing things that they created for themselves, or even at the very least knowing its origin. Kids are doing the Bernie without knowing it's from a movie.

If that kid at the spelling bee invented the dab then and there, that would have probably been the coolest thing ever. I'd say, "Go on with yo bad self!" If my kids' "You won't!" is original, props to them. If not, well... I'd like to see them make their own up for sure.

And yes, I think that matters. I almost do none of these things that become trendy (not just because they're annoying). I'd rather be a trendsetter.

You won't is so old.........I was saying that in the 1980s. Pretty sure kids been saying it a lot longer then that. In reality though, history repeats itself. What was once old becomes new again eventually. You see it in all walks of life. In hair style people went from afro to braids to perm to back to afro back to braids back to perm to fades(which never went out of style really)

Men pants went from regular, to bell bottoms, to way too short to regular to baggy to skinny jeans to regular to unisex to regular. The dances are differently repeating themselves, only difference is the current generation just changing the names of the dance or altering the form of it.

Not sure what grade(s) you teach Blzer, but you shouldn't expect kids with social media to come up with anything new. All you're doing is setting yourself up for disappointment.
