    Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

No real goal other than to lose a few. I ate too much at Christmas, as usual, and want to be back to where I was around mid-November.

Whenever I run/workout I always listen to this. Its the "How bad do you want it video". find a youtube to mp3 converter and presto its on your ipod. A combination between this, the rocky theme and a few other songs always makes me keep going

I have the same problem with the work schedule, so I started making my own weight gainer type shakes with a common recipe.

2 scoops whey protein (chocolate works best for this)
        1/4 - 1/2 cup oats
        1-2 tbsp natural peanut butter
        Milk

That's really about as healthy as you can get for a quick fix. Depending on how much of each you put in it's usually in the 750 calorie range. You can always change it up how you like as well. If you wanted even more calories you could add a tablespoon of olive oil or honey.

I'm cutting all fast food out of my diet and currently training for a half-marathon at the end of February.

I haven't had a soda since last friday. It may not sound like much but for me it is. I drink propel, fruit juices cut with water, and plain ol water.

                Re: 2012 FITNESS CHALLENGE

                Here we go!

                December was a ROUGH month.

I figured out my problem though, and working towards a solution. Too much drinking and bad timing on the eating.

Anyway, I'm starting of 2012 with a goal of limiting my alcohol intake to about 1-2 a month, if not less. I'm really serious about it as well. Not only will I instantly lower my calorie intake, but also save some cash.

I'm about 5'8" (on a good day) and right now weigh the most I have ever weighed. I don't look BAD, a lil chunky. I'm at around 210 right now. If I had a real solid number I would like to be at, it would most likely be about 175-180.

I walk about 2.5 miles to and from work, to the bus, every week day. I am planning on doing about 100 push ups every night, mixed in with other light work outs during the week.

As far as eating, a light snack and a dinner when I get off work. I know this isn't the best, but financially, it makes sense for me, so it's what I have to deal with.

I plan, and have been, on drinking primarily water. I will most likely mix in some kind of a soft drink or an energy drink weekly.

I feel that if I follow that eating/drinking guideline alone, I should be able to drop weight, even without heavy exercising.

A few years ago, I ate much much more, and never gained weight. I used to never drink as much as I do now, and definitely was a tad more active.

Working a desk job was a huge lifestyle change, that I need to make up for.

Good luck to everyone and their goals. I hope this thread here can keep me motivated and focused!

                    I worked Legs last night..

I'm skipping back and shoulders today, because my pulled muscle in lower back.. going to rest it for at least another week.

Tonight is the first time in weeks that I've struggled to find the urge to get up and go to the gym.. I still intend to go..... It may take a little jack3d to help influence me

I'll work arms today, with the exception of one or two machines and exercises, that would put strain on my back.

My new year had been good so far. Mon was chest / tri's, Tues was Back / Bi's, Wednesday was 1 hr cardio, this morning was legs and tomorrow will be shoulders / abs. Up at 4.30am, in the gym by 4.50am like clockwork. Haven't missed a scheduled workout since mid last year.

I'm around 209 lbs at 5'11 (put on 6lbs over xmas ) and want to get down to a lean, muscular 180-190 this year.

                        I work 8-5 Mon-Fri...

So, I usually get off at 5 and come home and make it to the gym about 9-9:30 every night. I have to come home and rest a bit.

This is week 3 back in the gym and I have so much more energy every day.

Damn Chase I would find it hard to get motivated to go that late. I like to get mine done first thing in the morning but it does take some getting used to (and having a home gym helps). At least the crowds should be down when you go at that time of night?

                            Oh yeah..

I just can't get to bed early enough to workout before I go to work, especially since I have to be there at 8 every morning.

It gives me time to wind down after work, relax, get a good shake in my system and then preworkout and head to the gym.

I also sleep so much better.

                              I work 9-5:30 M-F but with the commute, it's most like 6:30-6:30.

I plan on doing light work outs at home. I'm in complete savings mode. I need to guard against any possible thing that can happen.

Just wondering, what does your eating schedule look like? Do you usually eat dinner before the gym or late night after workout?
