My pool lights that were out of warranty by 4-5 months stopped working but the girl from the pool company was able to get them covered. So instead of paying $3000ish to have them replaced, I only had to pay $200 for labor.

I’m a bartender. Having a nice conversation with a customer while making them a drink is one of the most entertaining aspects of the job itself. Most of them are real sociable and they make the day so much better.

Finding out I have a bunch of giftcards still remaining to places I dont usually shop at.

However, I happened to see an item I was planning on buying elsewhere now suddenly selling at the store I got a giftcard for. Almost like getting it for free now.

I'm a deals whore, I'm the broke guy that looks up local sales, digital coupons, physical coupons, whatever deals I can get. Hell I even mentioned in the gaming deals thread a week or so ago that I bought PS4 games on PSN despite not having a PS4 because the deal was just that good.

So yesterday I figured out a way for Meijer (major midwest superstore a lot of people outside that area might not know about) can take all my discount options in one transaction. Don't look down on me for being thrifty lol

It used to be, the u-scan would ask me to choose one discount over another. Buy what I figured out is if you don't enter your mperks ID until after you scan your coupons you end up getting all deals at once. So in this instance there was a "buy 5 save $5 deal", plus a digital "buy 2 get 1 free" deal, and a physical coupon for "buy 3 save $2"

so I got the three items (ice mountain sparkling water, so good with vodka for those in need of a booze fix on a low carb diet), and threw in a couple Prego sauces because they were basically the cheapest item to include with the b5s5 deal (they ended up being 75 cents and I wanted to punch the worker for setting up his work cart in front of the Prego sauces and ignoring every attempt I made to get his attention to move)

long story longer, I made sure to scan all my items without logging in, scanned my coupon, the worker came to enter necessary info, and then after all was settled I logged in, and a $21 order ended up costing $9

don't laugh lol, that's my pleasure of the day

is it really weird? I mean, I acknowledged I'm a deals honk. we have a specific deals thread on this very forum, NBA 2k19 was $2.99 and that's an awesome deal. I plan to someday get a ps4 and I love the NBA 2k series. Why not get the extreme deal while it's available, and it's there for me when I eventually upgrade the system
