They definitely are stuck up and live in their own world where anyone who's different from them in any aspect of life is seen as wrong. The normalest of opinions get criticized because they dont deem it to be normal. Baseball hat outside? That's wrong (unless you're a kid). Choosing to relax on a day off from work instead of going to museums or operas? That's wrong. Not wanting pineapple on your pizza? That's wrong.

Thankfully the amount of people I know like that I can count on one hand. It does annoy me when people can be so narrow minded where they dont realize or accept the fact that everyone's different and theres nothing wrong with that, and try going out of their way to force people to change because they're "different".

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread

Watching a YouTube video on how to fix an issue with my car, and it actually worked.

The door was rubbing against the fender (guess that story I mentioned in the OT thread actually did lead to real minor damage on my car, no scratches or dent, the fender just got pushed back by maybe a quarter of an inch). One DIY tip was to use cardboard (such as the boxes you get online shipments in), wedge it between the door and fender, and managed to push the fender back into place.

Take it to a garage, they probably charge $50 or say it needs replacing.

Ignoring a mother in law altogether, LOL.

(Not my case though. My mother in law had a hard-as-hell life, and though she can be maddening sometimes, she deserves all the respect in the world.)

Air Canada FINALLY refunding me for my cancelled Florida trip which I paid for in February 2020. The federal government have stepped in with a $6 billion financial support package. Thought I would never see it.

The whole airline industry seems so messed up.

And I'm sure if they haven't already, they'll add even more things in the clauses when buying tickets that prevents refunds from any pandemic, natural disaster or alien invasion if it leads to the flight being cancelled.

I just thought I would never see it. They kept sending me emails where I would be credited for a future flight (I didn't want a credit in the first place). It kept getting extended. 12 months, 2 years, etc. Even on the refund page I went to you could have the option of being refunded, credit for a future flight or have all your money converted to Aeroplan points. It was $2,200. I want it back!

Except when suddenly you need to peel something and your nail are now useless for the next few days.

oh I hate peeling anything with my fingernails, always scared they'll peel back, one of the main reasons I love having trimmed tight nails is so I don't have to worry about them snapping back

I'll use a kitchen utensil over a fingernail every time

Perhaps the coolest thing in life is walking in the park or on the beach with your dogs. See the delight in the eyes of your pet, play together and just sit and watch other couples like that. Perhaps this is so important to me because recently my bulldog died who was young enough and I just can't recover from it. Only then they gave the information that diseases may not appear for a long time. Therefore, I now carefully monitor the health of the rest of the dogs. So LEARN MORE about the health problems of a particular dog breed so that your friend lives as long and comfortable as possible.

I love playing toys with dogs! I have a memory that goes back probly 15 years, I would visit my friend who's roommate had the house dog, and he was restricted to a small area of the house and didn't get much exercise. He would lose his mind when I came over because he knew he was gonna get to go out back, run around, and play toys. That dog was awesome.

                                Reddit dad joke forum.

The continual pun-filled responses to each joke crack me up.
