EDIT: Fighting the car/cranking the wheel is not being athletic. Nor is having enough endurance. There are 50 year old drivers in Nascar. Good ones at that(Mark Martin). That alone should tell you they are not athletes.
I know you were trying to make a point here, but man, out of 50 year olds you could have picked in NASCAR, you picked the wrong one. Mark Martin is actually pretty damn jacked. All he really does in his spare time is work out (and listen to Gucci Mane, but that's another story).

I'm not saying whether or not I feel it's a sport, they are athletes, or debating how boring it is. But I will say that many of you are selling NASCAR drivers short on the conditions they endure in that cockpit.

NASCAR isn't a sport simply because the people are using machines as the competition. It's like robot wars or whatever. And that's not a sport.

I have no interest in little league baseball. I hate when that season comes around and ESPN fills all their programming up with it.

Little League baseball pisses me off. It turns these 12 year olds into cocky *** teenagers that go through their playing career thinking that they are the ****, when really everyone else catches up to them by age 16 or so. I witnessed it first hand.

I've never understood the joy out of watching 12 year old boys play baseball.

I like NASCAR, and I like (to play) golf.

NASCAR and F1 are not sports. They are 'motorsports', like motorcycle racing, rally, drag racing, etc. Some drivers may be athletic, but they are not athletes, IMO.

Golf is not a sport (though it's fine exercise), it is a game.

I'm sure there are some people that do, but I can't even think of one person that I know who calls every soda coke. When you get something to eat they aren't asking, "What type of coke would you like with that?. They're asking, "What would you like to drink?".

The other four are from my wife's previous marriage. The older two are awesome kids and doing fine. The younger two....oyyy.....especially the youngest son (18). They actually drove me over the brink (bit of a mental breakdown) a few years ago, and I'm recently back on speaking terms with the youngest girl and nowhere NEAR speaking terms with the son.

I will say that I still love all of them (really really really really deep down somewhere for he whom shall not be named), and definitely do pray for their happiness (and good choices).

I reluctantly admit that I was probably not cut out to be a dad, or at least a dad to so many.

What a downer post in a fun thread....sorry guys. Back on topic.

Man it takes a special kind of guy to do that. Well... that or your wife is a super model

Anyway, this is part of my reasoning. Raising kids is such a crapshoot. I mean you can teach the right and wrong, morals and values, blah, blah, blah and they can still end up being Hell on Wheels (or even worse) once they become teenagers. I honestly don't know if I could deal with that.

Exactly. I'm 33 and my wife is 31. Neither of us have any kids. We don't really have much of a" support system" here because our families live an hour or more away from us. Perhaps if we did, I would feel differently, but since it's basically just us we would have to get up an hour or two early every day, take them to daycare, pay for daycare, take off of work when they are sick, take care of them once we get off work (feed them, bathe them, play with them, put them to bed, etc.) every day without any relief. Man, all of that just seems like one big "To Do" to me.

Give me my being able to go to dinner/movie, play video games, watch TV, go on vacations (outside of Disney World) whenever I want and I'm set.

Sorry for the rant, I certainly don't mean to offend anyone with kids. It's just that it's getting tiresome being asked when we're going to have babies on a weekly basis for the past six months or so. Then the few times that I've told the truth and said that we may not want kids, I'm looked at like I'm a freak or something.

I think people are always too quick to blame everything on parenting, when a lot of times it's not the parents fault at all.

My parents have been phenomenal to me throughout my entire life, but they were never overly strict because they had to grow up at an early age. My mom had my sister at the age of 16 and quit school to take care of her. Then they had me when they were both 19.

I could have had one of these modern day run away dads who was a ***** and a deadbeat or a mother who didn't care, but they did care and even with them being the best parents imaginable, my sister and I could have still turned out bad or made some life changing mistakes along the way.

At the end of the day, parents can only do so much to influence their kids choices and then you have to hope they make those right choices.

We're on the same page Jeremy lol. I just asked my girlfriend why she wants to have kids one day and she said to create a life and watch it grow. I thought she had more stuff to say and had this look on my face:

                                ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364400584.078568.jpg

That doesn't appeal to me at all. I randomly sit at home having music playing and playing a game. I'll randomly think, "I couldn't do this w/ kids or not as much". I have no desire to have time, money, or peace of mind when I get home taken away. Idk if this'll change and I'm not sure I want it to. That's a long 18 year commitment. I also don't want a kid w/ disabilities, abnormalities, turn out to be a slut, rebel, etc. best way to solve this is not to have any.
