Everyone in this area says pop and not soda. Prob most of them anyway. I literally don't know anyone who doesn't call it pop.

Coming from someone who literally hasn't ever heard somebody say "pop" out loud when referring to soda, this post makes me realize how distant we can be culturally in the same country.

Dr Pepper is the best POP. Yeah, in Pittsburgh it's called 'pop'.

And since we're apparently also on the topic of candy; I do not, nor have I ever liked hard or chewy candies (or gum for that matter). I remember chwing gum once when I was a kid, but I just didn't see the appeal or whatever of it and never chewed it again. I guess licorice would be the sole exception, but then only twizzlers strawberry whips or nibs.

Pop is a Midwest thing. Soda is an everywhere else thing. Except in the South where they call everything a Coke because they're weird.

I interchange soda and pop. Saying you want a Coke and then having to specify what flavor of Coke is just hilarious.
