Question for putting plain chicken on a gas grill.

I like using BB sauce for my wife and I, but the kids don't like BB sauce. Besides a marinade, how else to you keep the chicken juicy vs dried out.

Would dabbing with Olive Oil work?

        Thanks.

Olive oil would work or butter or Italian dressing.

Thank you, after I mentioned to my wife the answers, she stated, even with BB sauce your chicken is dry. lol

            Thanks, to juicier chicken.

Youre cooking it too long then.
Make sure your grill is HOT and cook chicken no more than 6 min on each side.
You want the chicken just as it turns white.

Whenever I do chicken on the grill I always cook it indirectly for 45 minutes to an hour and never have any issues with it drying out. If I cook it directly I'll ruin it every time. I put the BBQ sauce on for about the last 10min or so.

Yeah, I pay attention to temperature and am able to make juicy pork chops and chicken, while still making sure to cook it to the necessary temperature. Since my wife's pregnant she's very concerned about undercooked meats.

Plus we usually want to eat pretty quickly, so I don't usually have the problem of leaving stuff on too long.

I am the same, I only use indirect heat on chicken. I've just never had seared chicken that compares.

The only high heat chicken method I do requires bone in skin on breast. SnP and garlic only. Cooked rib cage portion down the whole time. About 30-40 minutes. The bone protects the meat from drying out and the skin crisps up because of the 500+ degrees. There's a point where the fat starts rendering and flare ups galore. Just takes some grill space and some juggling.
