Checking the odds, they aren't bad for prospect autos. Chrome prospect autos are 1:81 and paper are 1:129 for the base.

Given the massive print runs we've seen lately, that isn't horrible.

I'll update this if I find anything good when I open them.
Yea man let me know what you got. I saw they were fully stocked at my Walmart too. I held off for once in my life lol

Bought two packs of Topps Series 2 and managed to pull this out. Pretty happy as a White Sox fan.

Grabbed a blaster of Gypsy Queen and pulled this. Missing nameplate auto 1:931 pull. Wish it was anyone else but Taylor Walls. Lol

Was also just able to order two blasters of Prizm football on Target.

Been seeing a lot of bangers pulled from Definitive. Makes me wonder how well some of the cards will hold their value. $2,000 a box might be a little overboard.

Saw a triple auto of Acuna, Soto, and Vladdy Jr. /5. Probably the best I've seen. Also saw a duel of Acuna and Soto.

Also some Ohtani's and Trout's. Some sick patches as well. But tons of huge hits isn't always a good thing for the value. I'd be interested to see the print run.

So this is a big problem. Fake autos. Topps has admitted it as well. Obviously signed by the same person, and neither auto looks anything like the actual auto looks from the players.

Can you imagine paying $2,000 a box and you get this?

Jeez. How does that happen. What a stain on such a renowned company. I guess it's no harm no foul for that customer. I read he's getting a fresh box and a card of equal value. But that's just unthinkable.

Nba panini prizm single packs selling for like 120 plus right now. Just absurd.

My son got me a retail box of '87s and hit on the McGuire and Jackson cards, missed on Bonds and Larkin. Not worthy 6 digits but still some fine cards for the PC.

Re: Official OS Sports Card Collecting Thread

I picked up a hobby box of 2022 Select baseball for $130 on eBay. But I'm trying to decide if I wanna open it, or sell it. I wouldn't make any money off of it since they are still going for around that price. I'm just trying to decide if the potential hits are worth it. I've seen a lot of Wander redemptions pulled. And some sick patches. Also some 1/1's.

It's 2 autos and 2 mem cards. But for as many good boxes I've seen, I've seen some really bad ones. Like the two autos being rookie pitchers who have no hope of any value to their cards in the future. Although, even if I got those, I'd settle for a sweet low numbered patch card. But knowing my luck I won't get anything good.

I guess there is also a chance for some case hits like the color wheel cards. Those seem to sell for a decent amount.

                          So do I open it?

Personal opinion, I hate Panini Baseball products. I would hold and sell, personally.

Opened some Contenders Optic on stream today and while they aren't insanely valuable, I love that I can open things like this in products

I wouldn't open it personally. Granted I've never gotten Select baseball before. Just basketball. Do they have a MLB License?

They do not, which is part of the reason I generally don't like Panini Baseball. I also don't think Panini puts enough effort into making the cards look good. Baseball is a sport with enough action that it baffles me sometimes when I see a picture used and all the logos are scrubbed and it looks atrocious, and the very next card could look great, because the logos are covered by the arms after the swing of the bat, or the pitchers back is turned to the camera. I think, surprisingly, Leaf does a better job with the unlicensed stuff.
