It's cool to hear how other people build their collections because they're all pretty unique.
I like to complete vintage sets in baseball. My prized completion was the 74 Topps that the 6 year old me collected about 75% from pack pulls from that year. The set isn't mint because I played with those cards a lot, but they're nice. Completed the 78 set too, the 10 year old me pulled most of them. I have a lot of cards mostly from the years I was collecting as a kid; tubs and tubs full, LoL . I have been giving a lot of my cards to my young cousin who is just getting into the hobby.

I do like ripping football packs too when I can find them.

I began collecting baseball cards in 1969. Fell in love with the Mets and danced on the Jersey City streets 53 years ago. During the 80's I began collecting the World Series teams for for each baseball team from both leagues. I wanted to collect from when I was born but decided to start at 69 on. I stopped during the 90's. Wife, children, and cards values plummeting had much to do with it. Don't have all the teams yet set since I stopped but have contemplated resuming again.

Here's a favorite of mine, the 1973 Mets when I started mimicking Matlack's delivery and Staub's batting stance as a kid plus that Athletic team which had pitching, power, and speed- arguably the best team I've seen. The sleeves have 2-sides of the roster. The frame are collections I deemed as probable valuables and favorites of mine. Recently found Rickie Henderson's rookie card in my stash. Need to put him in the frame.

Ah Picci, very nice! I love the flashing of your '74s! I love that framed set you have; question, do have them in sleeves too?

There's something noble about putting together sets, especially the classics. I like how you play off of the sentimental aspect of collecting as well, which is how I roll too. It takes you back to those moments and days where that era and those players and games were a part of your life during a time when everything was innocent and right with the world.

That is a very, very cool collection my friend, with quite a few of the most iconic and desired cards in the hobby. I like the Rickey RC, it's one I have been meaning to pickup but never do. Your display case is pretty sweet too. That's cool about the world series teams, I love ideas like that. I always wanted to get a similar frame like yours and arrange the players in like a diamond formation from the 87 and 91 Twins and put their autographed cards in the position they played. Hard part is getting a Kirby auto (or at least expensive part is) but the rest would be okay.

Not your conventional sleeve but they are fixed in a card sheet holder if that makes sense.

First off, hi, that's me in my natural habitat. Second I don't think this is as big of a deal as some are making it out to be, simply because there was no way to tell the pack was marked until I opened two boxes.

All that said, it's weird being controversy adjacent.

Are people accusing you of something?

It's not on you if you opened a sealed box from Topps. It could have been an employee, or simply a machine making a mark somehow. Either way, it's not controversial to me.

Now, Packman, I don't know about him. He seems to just roll out the huge hits like they are loading his boxes. Probably not the case, but still a bit suspicious to me.

Nah, no one is accusing me/company of anything outside of the ordinary(ruining the hobby for being a breaker, looking like a naked mole rat, not wearing gloves while touching cards, etc). I personally haven't looked more into it, but someone told me on stream later that Topps confirmed the marks are for 'hit' packs, but since there's no way to tell that it's a red marked pack until you open the case, the master box, and the mini box, it seems unlikely the red mark is being used nefariously for distribution purposes.

Since all of Packman's videos aren't live, I assume he only posts the big ones. Record yourself opening a lot of stuff and eventually it's bound to have something good. It does feel like something is off considering it seems to happen all the time, but without a true live video it's hard to really pin point.

That's pretty weird that Topps would do something like that with the red marks. Obviously no one could know outside of them.

Honestly, I haven't watched many of your breaks, but I need to start. And possibly jump in a few. I don't care about the glove thing as long as you are being careful with the cards, which I'm sure you are. And ruining the hobby for being a breaker is hilarious to me. IMO, it opens up access to the hobby for so many people who otherwise wouldn't be able to enjoy it.

Keep doing what you're doing and don't let the idiots bother you.

The Topps thing makes sense, back when I worked more on the Magic: The Gathering side of cards, a place I worked made repacks for local dollar stores, and Magic clubs at the local schools, and we did basically the same thing to make sure that cards got in packs because the company we used to package the cards couldn't take foil cards through the packing machine(slightly thicker!) so we had to manually insert them and marked the packs when we did.

I think there's a little bit of validity to the claim that Breakers are hurting the industry overall, I think there are MANY more factors OTHER than that, that contribute significantly more, but there's still a little bit coming from us. Creating more access points, especially for those higher end products is something I am very much happy about, especially for those people that aren't chasing the hottest rookie or anything.

As a breaker, I know I'm kinda supposed to be a hype man for a lot of things, but I really try to keep my reactions genuine because having an emotional attachment to these pieces of cardboard is what makes it fun for me. I will never forget pulling an Earl Campbell auto, and Earl Campbell was one the first HBs I enjoyed watching highlights of, and I got super excited, and the dude in the Youtube chat said "It's a worthless vet auto no one cares." That's the **** that bums me out more than anything about the hobby.

Even when I get a "worthless vet auto" I'm just happy I got an auto. lol

I have only a few breakers I watch. SLVRsport, Jabs, and a couple others. I only really care about baseball and football. Especially baseball. I feel like most of them are good for the hobby. SLVRsport is very entertaining and fun. Jabs is kinds all business, but he always has the brand new cards which is nice. And also does the high end stuff.

I'm excited Bowman Chrome should be here next week or the week after(I forget). At work we normally compare ourselves to Layton. I will check out those other guys though, always looking to improve, personally.

I just remembered it's gotta be the week after for Bowman Chrome cause next week we're doing a "Fight Week" break week where it's all AEW(Spectrum), WWE(Prizm, Select, Revolution), and UFC(Prizm, Select, Chronicles, Donruss). So if you've got a passing interest in those cards, our channel will be loaded with those!
