I'm just not going to pretend there's nothing in the picture that was posted like some people on here when there is CLEARLY something in the picture. There's obviously black spots in the water that are out of the ordinary and you can't deny that unless you need your glasses adjusted. If that's the case, I apologize because that's something out of your control at this very moment.
I don't see anything in that picture. I see some different colors in the water, but who knows what that is.

      And now this:

Maldives island residents report sighting of 'low flying jet'
Satellite data suggests that the last "ping" was recieved from the flight somwhere close to the Maldives and the US naval base on Diego Garcia.

But the Maldives is not amongst the countries that Malaysian authorities had sought help from in its search for the missing jet.
      And:

While aviation experts and armchair theorists continue to come up with plausible locations, the jet could have landed or crashed. Many theories have included Diego Garcia as a notable landing strip.

The island — named after 16th century Spanish explorer Diego Garcia de Moguer — gained some notoriety in the past 10 years after reports claimed that the U.S. used Diego Garcia to transport and detain alleged terrorists.
Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned something about if it was hijacked, the potential of refueling and not having a long enough area to take off if that were the scenario.

This could very well be a non-story, but it is a bit interesting to me.

My father in law was stationed at Diego Garcia. I don't think it landed at a military base

Probably just some of his friend's high scores that he was ashamed to have on there.

No seriously, I hope they recover it... but I hope they kind of do it in secrecy. I know they should be fully disclosing everything, but if we tip off any foul actors in this bit about what we're finding out, we don't want to blow our cover if we can find out things incognito.

I'm assuming that's why the story changes constantly.

                  So you do see something...

I don't think anyone here is saying that Courtney Love is right and that there is an oil slick from the plane. People are acting like there is absolutely zero difference in color between that section of the photo and the other (in reference to the "oil"). Clearly there is. Whether someone thinks it's a school of fish, a camera playing tricks, or aliens is up to them.

What's odd to me is that someone had access to all that during this whole fiasco.

If something was fishy with this airplane, the pilot should have been suspect #1. They should have seized everything in his house and started looking for clues. The fact that someone managed to delete files off potential key evidence as to what happened with the plane is so bizarre to me.

But then again this is Malaysia.

I take it as the pilot deleted the files before he went on the flight…not that someone else did it since the jet disappeared.

Anytime someone comes up with a theory, no matter how off the wall, Malaysia changes the story about what happened again, and again, and again.

At this point, with the plane making a 180 degree turn approx. 12 mins before the last communication, that rules out any failure of any kind and shows premeditation.

However, I am quite sure tomorrow when I wake up and go to work, Malaysia will have changed the story about what happened yet again and we can all theorycraft the new scenario presented to us.
I don't believe anything coming from their government now.

One thing I'm surprised about is how little we are seeing come from China. Maybe I just haven't paid attention, but they have 150 citizens missing. You would think a country of 1 billion and the biggest army could send out more ships and planes.

I don't think China really cares about their civilians.

Regarding China they're in a tricky spot. They don't want to seem like the big bully on the block however there are back channel discussions where China is applying pressure on Malaysia to get their collective heads out of their butts.

                                So we go from:

                                1. Plane was on route to destination.

                                2. Plane veered off course.

                                3. Plane made sharp turn.

                                4. Plane made slow curve.

I don't know what to believe anymore.
