I know China is sending 3 warships over. But so far all reports I've heard were planes.

    **edit**

Actually US has a ship out there..

I'm not knowledgable of the currents in the Indian Ocean but is there any chance with the storms these objects are moving? I assume they would see it on satellite but haven't heard if it's a freeze shot if debris or a constant live feed they are watching.

If there is actual debris in the water it should wash up on the shore soon, if it hasn't already.

They're kind of on a race against the clock, too. I think they have less than two weeks before the battery dies on the recorder for the black box.

Let's hope they find it soon.

If they can find the source of the beeping, they should be somewhat fine, as they could set a marker on where it is and what not, but yes, two weeks until the beeper goes away, so they need to find it by at least then.

They can use SAROPS to have a general area of where it could go. That's how we know where to search.

This is the first morning I've woken up and this thread wasn't bumped 2+ pages, much less one post. No new harebrained theories this morning? The media and Malaysia run out of ideas and "facts". I am disappoint.

We've already doubled the amount of theories as "who killed JFK."

Well had to run dry at some point.

The copilot made a phone call just before taking off, some how they haven't identified who the call was made too.

China has spotted something and going to check it out.

This whole thing is frustrating. It's one thing for it to be a mystery, but to add the fact that we're getting pieces of information at a time, sometimes directly conflicting previous information, is heinous.

Anyone heard of the series of adventure books following the character Dirk Pitt by Clive Cussler? I had read one where terrorists or whomever the bad guys were, went to Antarctica to shift the polar forces or whatever. Basically trying to wipe out the world besides who they protected. That's seriously what this is reminding me of, some adventure book with a crazy plot like that. Hopefully if that's the case, there's some action hero out there to save us all. Or maybe all it took was some everyday people to be a real life hero and take down the plane in the event it was in fact hijacked.
Bob's point is fine. Calling people names and questioning intelligence is not. No place for that, especially in a thread about a tragic event like this.
