    Re: Missing Malaysian Plane

    Sigh...

So they didn't find the pallet as they originally stated. More satellite images but not actual debris was found of the aircraft.

What I find really odd about these "reports" is that almost all of them have at some point a statement that says "was not authorized to speak"

Yet the unauthorized people are the only one coming out with tips/news to the media.

It just really makes me think this is a big cover up to something bigger when the only news we get comes from anonymous sources that were unauthorized to speak about the matter.

Not really a time for jokes but this is like Chris Broussard and his "my sources tell me"

    **EDIT**

Surprised the grammar police didn't come and arrest me. Sorry, I posted this on my phone and stupid autocorrect doesn't know proper grammar.

There very well may be a cover-up but this "not authorized to speak" is nothing new.

This is pretty much the case with every story.

Why wouldn't someone be authorized to speak? We want to find the plane, the people, the debris, and what exactly happened. What is there on there that we shouldn't know about?

Most companies and government agencies you have to be given permission to speak to the press. I can't just go out and talk to news stations about certain events.

I understand that some information should not be released to the public. Or at least they need approval before relaying it to the media..

But I don't understand when actual authorized authorities comes out with "news" and the only thing they have is that they are sending ships/planes to search, and are still searching.

Where as the more substantial information such as other objects being seen by actual search planes are being withheld from us until they come out from an anonymous source.

And I'm not asking these anonymous sources to come out and reveal themselves.. I'm asking these so called authorities with permission to speak to give us more details other than "we're search the Indian Ocean"

Right, I get it. We all want the info.

There's a reason people are giving info under anonymity and it's because whichever organization they represent is not going to "formally" release it's info until there is a concrete conclusion.

I only pointed it out because it's anything but shady, it's typical.

Just go to google and type in the phrases "sources close to the situation" or "spoke on the condition of anonymity" and you can see how common it is.

Again though, I agree with you, there is a lot of shady stuff within this story, but getting our news from "sources" isn't one of them.

Yeah I know speaking on the condition of anonymity is a common practice, usually legally. We've all seen guys get busted for steroids but can't speak until everything is in line and prepared.

But we're in a race against the clock. Releasing this information could help. Who knows where possible debris could wash up. It just sucks that the answers may have to wait so no one looks bad with misinformation. I guess at this point human life is pretty much out of the equation, but for the sake of their families, I'd want to know every piece of info. Only in a perfect world...

And the fact that human life is involved is the biggest reason why you won't hear anything official until there are solid conclusions.

The worst would be for an organization to officially announce they found a wing of the plane if it turned out to be wrong.

This story has been a mess. Now they're saying the last ACARS transmission was normal and that the left turn the plane made wasn't pre-programmed when all of the last week we had been led that it was. Ridiculous. Feel bad for the families having to go through this stuff.

Apparently another Malaysian Airlines flight en route to South Korea was diverted to Hong Kong due to an electrical issue. Landed safely and all passengers transferred to other sights. Wasn't the same kind of plane as Flight 370 though.
