Plus I still don't understand why you'd fly 7+ hours just to crash the plane somewhere(unless they intended to crash it into a building or something 911 style or like others have said maybe something happened on board that incapacitated the pilots and the plane flew by itself).
If the radar/satellite pings have the correct plane, then it was not on autopilot. Autopilot doesn't make all those turns or drop that much in altitude.

      Re: Missing Malaysian Plane

Interesting subplot here with the pilot visiting the trial of the Malaysian opposition leader and being a supporter of said party. It seems the Malaysian government is trying to put out a terrorism explanation saying the pilot downed the plane to make a statement when it's a bit of a cockamamie idea as the opposition party is a recognized party and the leader doesn't have any kind of terrorist angle to him.

So I think we can throw out the idea that it was something like that as the t-shirt he wore was in support of that opposition party and even though the verdict in the trial didn't go the way they wanted it's far fetched to think the pilot would just off himself and all those passengers to make some kind of political statement.

Either way, this story gets curiouser and curiouser.

Apparently, Courtney Love thinks she found the plane.

        From Courtney Love's Facebook page:
I'm no expert but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick. http://www.tomnod.com/nod/challenge/...014/map/128148 prayers go out to the families ‪#‎MH370‬ and its like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they "last" tracked it 5°39'08.5"N 98°50'38.0"E but what do I know?

I don't see anything but water.

You can't tell what any of that is.

I think this may be a case of people wanting so badly to solve this mystery that every blemish in satellite images becomes the wreckage.

Had I looked at the same coordinates without any input from Courtney Love, I wouldn't have given it a second thought and would've kept looking at other areas.

On the flip side, if by some St. Patrick's Day magic she is right and that is the wreckage, I think that would be pretty awesome.

CNN hasn't even made one mentioned about the Courtney Love finding. They probably already checked it out heh.

I think this is actually a case of Courtney Love being bat-**** crazy, and not wanting to be out of the spotlight.

I'm certain that is the case. I was just responding to SB's post.

Initial turn was entered into the Flight Management System and was not a manual turn.

The use of the Flight Management System suggests the change of course was carried out by somebody in the cockpit who was knowledgeable about airplane systems.

Time and again, I know there is not anything that is amusing about this possibly tragic situation. However, I just had a pretty big chuckle after reading the article in that link. Not from that article, but the headline of the one immediately below it:

Missing Jet: 'Hunger Strikers' Start Eating Again After 7 Hours

I'm still not sure why, but this gave me a pretty good laugh.
