Would make sense if the report was true that passengers cell phones where indeed still ringing the day after the plane dissapered.

It was a red eye flight. So ~1 hr into flight, most people will be asleep and lights off. You don't get into the cockpit without a crew member letting you in. So both pilots in on it and no one would know.

Weapons are easy, there are many ways, but it requires ground crew member in on it. The passenger side of airports are secure for the most part, but outside the terminals are not like they make you think.

I think the Co - Pilot is suspect #1. I think he was in on it with the 2 Iranians. Hour in....He let's the two guys in...incapacitates the pilot....then on to their plan that we don't know.

In a general aspect, I know these things can happen. More than likely others were involved but no one knows that yet.

I was moreso asking those questions because I am curious about what happened in this specific situation and not theories/explanations how they could occur in a general sense. But, I follow you and you make good points...

Now they're saying the plane flew for 7+ hours after disappearance. Last satellite ping was at 8:11am. That's over an hour and a half after it was supposed to land in Beijing. Crazy. You'd have to think at that point the plane was very close to it's fuel limit.

Unless they took on extra fuel...

Which normally planes carry more fuel than they need to reach their destination in case they have to circle the airport they're supposed to land at, or have to divert somewhere else.

I understand that, but that plane was only supposed to be in the air for a little under 6 hours. 8:11am puts it in the air for exactly 7 and a half(they took off at 12:41am). That's obviously more than enough fuel than they needed to get to Beijing.

I would be interested in knowing how much fuel the plane was loaded with.

In this situation, I don't think they needed any weapons, but no one knows right now.

Well. If there was reason to be interested in the engineers or certain passengers. Getting rid of evidence. Sell it on the black market. I was being more facetious than anything. There have been some ridiculous theories, I thought I might chime in, haha!

                      Re: Missing Malaysian Plane

So i've been following the story and one crazy theory out there is that this could definitely be terror related with the plane landing on some island and being stored for future terrorist use.

I know it's kind of out there but you can't take anything off of the table based on what little we know right now. When I heard this theory (and it comes from a credible former CIA guy) it made the hairs on my back stand on end. I can just imagine terrorists stockpiling the plane with a bunch of home brewed nukes or bombs and flying it somewhere in Europe or the US.

Hopefully this theory can be put off the table and remain just a theory.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but if this was hi-jacked for a terrorist attack, say in the US, wouldn't it show up on some type of radar before it even got close? Wouldn't they be able to shoot it down?

Yeah, Unless it flew under the radar but people would see it coming a mile away. Like I said it was a theory that's been brought up.

I don't know... if it did land somewhere there would have to be a lot of people in on it for them to pull it off. Can't just land a plane of that size anywhere without someone noticing(and a place that has jet fuel supply).

I still think it's likely in the ocean somewhere but I also don't understand why you'd fly for nearly 8 hours just to down the plane in the water.

Very intriguing story as tragic as it is.

                                Re: Missing Malaysian Plane

The whole idea of this plane being on the ground somewhere getting prepared for something evil is unnerving beyond belief to me. It's not a too far out there thought in the least, because information is severely lacking right now and that's what makes this so troubling. 12 years ago, no one would have ever believed that four of our own airline planes could be hijacked and used as missiles to wreck havoc on the lives of innocent Americans.

I don't really have a theory, but if this plane is being used for terrorist purposes, I don't think the U.S. is the target. I think Tel Aviv or Jerusalem is. But I think that's very unlikely. If not, all hell would break loose.
