    Re: Missing Malaysian Plane

Most likely an act of terrorism. One of which is being coordinated by multiple different governments of the world for the use of the plane being some sort of weapon. Maybe they are planning to use an EMP on a country or some sort of bomb.

What's odd is that they haven't released some of the passenger names.

I've only heard one passenger talked about, and that was from his wife. He was an engineer on his way for a project.

Someone else posted that there were numerous other engineers on the plane. Does anyone have a link to this report?

Just read that military radar indicates that the plane was flown off course onto a route normally used on flights to.........Iran.

If the plane was headed to Iran, we might want to take another look at those two Iranians using stolen passports.

This thing is starting to reek. It's awful that a tragic accident may be the brightest conclusion to this mystery.

Yeah, I mean I don't know what kinds of conspiracies are most logical, but if we were to poll on OS whether we thought the plane was on land or in water right now, I think most of us would say it's on land.

That, or its intention was for it to be on land and the passengers saved it from getting there, downing it into the water (United 93 style).

What I'm wondering is, if this is indeed terrorist capturing an aircraft to "repurpose" it, is this something they are planning on doing quickly or are they going to wait around until the search is over and people start to forget about it (talking about years).

They could do it quickly or wait. They just need to reprogram the transponder and paint it. Right now you have people on higher alert so any suspicious plane would be taken out quickly. If you wait you have to hide the plane. So it would depend on where it is at. If its in Iran, they could have the means to hide it. If it is in a smaller country, say Africa or something, it would be easier to find.

That is why I am leaning towards it crashing in the ocean. Unless terrorist were able to get a large amount of their people on board two guys aren't going to be able to take hijack a plane and then land it with no problems. I was reading that a couple years ago 6 guys tried to take over a plan and two of them ended up dieing from injuries after crew and passengers stopped them.

With the technology available I wonder why there isn't video cameras all over the plane and streaming video to a central location. Even if it gets cut out you can have some kind of idea of what was going on board before hand.

If this plane did manage to land somewhere and is being refitted for "terrorist" purposes, I'm not sure why the hijackers would wait a week to do something with the plane while basically piquing the interest of every intelligence agency out there.

My best guess is that there was an attempted hijacking and the plane crashed somewhere in the Indian Ocean.

I agree with your best guess. The "repurposing theory" means that it would have either had to happen very quickly or a long time from now.

                                Re: Missing Malaysian Plane

The disappearance of a Malaysian jet may have been an "act of piracy,” and more evidence suggests the plane was diverted by a skilled pilot before it vanished, U.S. and Malaysian officials familiar with the investigation said Friday.
A Malaysian government official involved in the mysterious case said only a skilled person could navigate the Boeing 777 the way it was flown after its last confirmed location over the South China Sea, the Associated Press reported.
But it now appears increasingly certain that the plane didn't experience a catastrophic incident over the South China Sea as was initially seen as the most likely scenario. Some experts believe it is possible that one of the pilots, or someone with flying experience, hijacked the plane for some later purpose or committed suicide by plunging the aircraft into the sea.
