We have the "chip next to rear view mirror" that charges the account. For us though, it was coming out of the money in an account. We did get billed.

I ended up finding the real number later (on the chip itself) and called them. They needed a 4-digit PIN. The problem is this was my dad's account, and he passed away last year. I was explained that we're probably going to have to terminate that account and open up a new one.

We call that EZ -Pass here in South Jersey /PA.... Kind of odd, we've had it for quite a while. Is this a new phenomenon out west?

Yeah but y'all's tolls are a lot more. Ours is like a dollar something. Also Texas law requires a free way of getting to your destination.

No, we've had it for at least ten years, maybe more. This is the first time I've ever had to personally replenish funds, though.

Also, bridge tolls are $5 here.

I still do not get why MLB Network does not broadcast classic games.

Just watched 2 games today on NBA TV:

1998 Finals: Game 5 (where Jazz win and send it back to Utah)

1990 EC Division Game 5: NY Knicks vs. Celtics

Both were awesome games; there is a definite audience (rather than these stupid "bleacher features"...I want to see old games - without the commentary - exactly how it was broadcasted live.

Even if they broadcast them early in the morning so people could record them, it would be sweet. ESPN Classic does games pretty often, though.

Them, along with NBATV should broadcast more recent type of games. I know people might love 1980s basketball and stuff, but to me at least, just seems like on a big screen, with it not in HD,quality isn't so great. Late 90s/early 2000s stuff would show up better.

I have trouble re-watching games when I already know the outcome or when the outcome has already been had, unless it was just earlier that day. I'll revisit specific moments uncut, but not an entire game. Not even a perfect game (just the ninth inning, etc).

I lived through a lot of those early 90s games, and even I have trouble dealing with the square-shaped video, and little things that we take for granted, like having the score on-screen more than just once every 5 minutes.

So okay, this is kind of concerning.

Back in January I made mention of one of my former students committing suicide by walking in front of a train. This train system here is called Caltrain. He was the first one this year; so far there have been fifteen total deaths by Caltrain, at least fourteen by suicide.

I now got a story (with video) e-mailed to me about an officer saving someone's life from being hit by a train, pulling him out of his car. However, if you watch the video, it looks like he was trying to get hit as well.

Hats off to the cop and all for risking his life to save another's, but I don't think this person wanted to be saved, and will probably find other means down the road (no pun intended). What is going on here with everybody attempting to go this way, this year? I'm not understanding it, and it's freaking me out.

Maybe he wasn't, maybe he was drunk and unable to keep balance or something... but besides this story itself, I'm more concerned about the general statement about suicide by train in my area this year. It has been abysmally depressing, especially when the first one was my own student.
