Re: Things that took you way too long to realize....

I only just now researched what things like WR1, WR2, RB1, RB2, etc. mean in fantasy football.

Since I always hear this lingo on radio and read it in articles, I think it was about time that I finally confirmed their definitions.

Not far off, but I always imagined if I had two receiver slots and I had WR1- and WR2-ranked players in those slots, then things are as they should be. If I have a WR3 or better in my flex, then that would be fitting for the area.

The definition is still a little unclear since some say that like RB1 is players ranked #1-10 then RB2 is #11-20, whereas others are saying #1-12 and #13-24. Articles are saying it is dependent upon how many teams are in your league, but if I'm reading an article or hearing a radio segment they wouldn't know whether I have 10 or 12 teams, etc.

Nascar has all these different races with numbers at the end of the name (like Daytona 500) with different numbers (like 350, 400, 500, 600) and I always thoughtthe number stood for how many miles the race was, but even when you see the number 500, that can mean 500 miles, 500 laps, and even500 kilometers.

I always assumed it was the number of laps, and thought most all tracks were longer than a mile a lap, except for places like Bristol.

In fact, I thought that one horse racetrack lap is one mile, but it appears it is 5/8 of a mile.

Is custom playback speed brand new on YouTube, or have I just never seen it?

I'm aware of like the preset speeds (0.25x, 0.5x, etc.), but just today I caught there is a slider that I can change it to, say, 0.35x speed if I wanted to.

Re: Things that took you way too long to realize....

Just found out one of my fave episodes of an old show I grew up watching was actually filmed just a few blocks away from where I live, one scene or so was even filmed at a playground I played at before too. I've been reading up on other episodes since lots of the show was filmed within the city but only a few have specifically mentioned streets/areas it was filmed. Funny watching some of those episodes and seeing what parts of the city looked like (from a professional tv camera) at the time because they didn't hide the area/city much when filming.

Closest I've come in the moment to seeing a full on filming was walking through an area slowly being staged to film what I found out later on was a Disney movie (the giveaway at the time that I knew it was a movie filming were the amount of NYC taxis).

I know lots of shows have been filmed in the city (easier/cheaper for companies to do so and get the "bigger city look" without having to pay to do it in NY or Chicago or LA), I've always wanted to see a more detailed map of the city where people point out any show/movie filmed in certain parts but the list I've found isn't so extensive.

                    Goosebumps.

Lots of that show was filmed in Toronto or neighbouring cities, obviously watching it at the time I wouldn't notice or care about any of that, but I saw a list of different locations episodes were filmed in and it's crazy how I either know of or am real familiar with some locations where when I saw clips of the episodes in some of those spots, I can easily spot where it is.

Funny enough, they had an episode I think in 1999 where despite the episode having nothing to do with the city, they just clearly show the Skydome/CN Tower in the background and the saddest part to me was realizing how many blocks away they were from those buildings but you could clearly see the whole thing. The condos in this city really ruined everything that made the city cool. Only way you're seeing the Rogers Centre from ground level now is if you're within the block around the stadium.

I remember how easily growing up I used to be able to see the Skydome from parks halfway across the city because that was really one of the only parts of the city skyline (which seemed cool at the time seeing where the Blue Jays play despite not even being near the stadium) Now it's not even part of the skyline anymore from most angles.

I know this is the opening to Are You Afraid of the Dark? instead, but this opening shot (with the music) was always super creepy, and was what I thought about when he said they filmed Goosebumps at his park:

I always thought it was cool when Bicentennial Man was filmed near when I grew up, given that they had the Oracle complex in one of their scenes.

This is in Belmont, CA. You have to drive right next to these buildings to hit the little league and Babe Ruth league fields for my hometown. These are also shown in a quick flyover transition for The Internship before they show the Google campus (which are nowhere near each other, but that's only for locals like me to pick out).

Outside of those moments and Watch Dogs 2, that area south of San Francisco doesn't get much love in media lore.

Speaking of Are You Afraid of the Dark, the main guy from that show (Gary, the kid with the glasses) was actually a weatherman on local news channels for a while. I think he was on channels in the west in Vancouver, did stuff in Toronto, and other things too.

Outside of Elisha Cuthbert(who I'm sure many people remember from various shows/movies), I think he's probably the most known actor from the main cast (though they've had many notable guests stars on the show including Ryan Gosling).

As for the playground, I don't even know if it was shown in other episodes, and the episode it was actually in it might have just been shown for a few seconds. I don't remember it that much, I probably was there a few times in my life (the school they used for the episode I used to play basketball at, and the actual playground was across the street from one of my friends aunts house so that's why we ended up going there one time).

I have a fridge that has the water/ice dispenser in it. A while back it started leaking from underneath. I took a look at it to see if I could get to it but it didn't seem possible at the time and I didn't want to mess with anything in case the rest of the fridge stopped working so I didn't bother with it.

Took me until recently to get someone to look at it/fix it. I had to pull the fridge out the night before/leave room for them to work and it was in that moment I realized I could've fixed it myself. Turns out all I needed to do was rip out both halves of the tubing (since it split in two) and just replace that.

Might have been a 30 minute job and cost $20 in parts. I felt bad to cancel on the guy on short notice since he has done work in the past and I don't want to burn bridges by cancelling last minute and him seeing one day that the job got done without him.

I'm surprised (but not really) they used such cheap material on it. Makes no sense that they'd use tubing that can break easily, especially in heat (which the underneath part of the fridge obviously has a lot of).

Don't know how it took me so long to realize that. I'm thinking the tubing didn't fully split in half when I looked at it originally so at the time it looked like I'd have to splice it underneath the fridge and reconnect both halves. Wasn't until it fully split in half on it's own before I realized I could rip out the tubing easily without having to interfere in any other wires/tubes underneath it.
