    Re: The Lego Thread

Came home from work to this. My kids had an idea to make Santa out if Legos and they accomplished it. No instructions or anything. Just their creativity. Pretty awesome.20191224_151900.jpeg

Finished my latest build....my favorite of all time! (yes, I'm missing a piece on the cartridge. I didn't have another one lying around so I submitted a missing piece request to Lego and its getting sent to me)

That is awesome. Was it hard to find?

Ordered it from the Lego Store online the morning it came out (8/1). Guess I got lucky from the sounds of it.

Side note: maybe there would be less of a supply issue if they wouldn't be sending kits to YouTube gamer influencers that have never built Lego sets of this type. I've watched a couple of them build and review the set, and it has been so frustrating and cringey to watch.

Probably just trying to hit the video game crowd. Not your usual LEGO AFOL builder.

My brother got my son the Mario kit for his birthday in a few weeks. This will be his first foray in to LEGO.

I'm curious about those Mario sets - not sure I could make myself drop any money into the expansion sets, though.

I've been waiting for this set to re-release. It was a fun build. Frustrating at times. But I love it. 20211205_221208.jpeg

                  Re: The Lego Thread

Back when the Seinfeld set was announced I off-hand mentioned it to my mom who is also a huge fan of the show.

Well, I got it for Christmas and it's my first Lego set in almost 30 years.

I'm so pumped, and it prompted me to check out what other kind of adult Lego sets exists now. Trying not to get sucked into this money pit, ha.

Anyway, I haven't put it together yet, but I think once I do, I'm going to get a plastic case for it and display it in my office at work.

                    Re: The Lego Thread

Never noticed there was a lego thread before. This has become a new 'not sitting at a computer' hobby I've started to pick up. In the last couple months I've built the Infinity Gauntlet (have a light kit I need to put on it wife got me for Christmas), the ISS and a few other smaller things not worth mentioning.

Working on my first technic - the Chevy Stingray (just found something I put on sideways, requiring me to tear it half apart... will resume it when patience allows), and have the McClaren sitting here with Dom's Charger being delivered today from Best Buy.

If I could have had a chance at that Titanic... I just might have pulled the trigger. Would have a good display spot for it.
