I love everything about the season. Speaking of Christmas at school, for years I ran and put on the Christmas Assembly at the school I taught at. One of the Physed teachers putting on a show that past grads would come back to every year, was amazing. We gave away PS3's, Ipads and Xbox's. The students were talented and pretty damn funny. Besides coaching 2 teams, I ran the school council and we would have Christmas Door Decorating Contests and toy mountains where we donated to a local battered woman's shelter. I loved it all and it is something that I miss. The best part my best friend, best man and former martial arts partner also taught at my school and we put the show on together. Starting December 1st we would have early morning practices. The morning of the show we would all arrive at 5:30am and go through our final 2 practices. My student council members would do their secret Santa exchange after the show. It was such fun times.

I cherish those memories as well as the crazy gifts my students gave me. Over the years I was given 3 pair of Jordans, 2 pairs of Lebrons, a pair of Iverson's and an ipod touch. It became a bloody competition between my home rooms classes and they would try to out do previous years. I was always blown away and moved by their generosity. I never asked for anything and actual asked them not to give me gifts, however they were not listening to me when it came to that. So many other teachers were jealous about it, but when you spend countless hours with these students, giving up weeks of your home life to go to Leadership Camp, Band Camp and Boys Athletic Camp and coaching 2 teams, you form strong bonds with your kids and their parents. I became good friends with a few sets of parents.

So, Christmas and school have given me great memories that i hold close all these years later. I miss teaching. It has been 10 years since my accident when my career was stolen from me.

Which leads me to Christmas with my family. We start Christmas on November 1st in the Stewart household. I would start earlier, however my wife pumps the breaks on that. It is even more joyful in our home now that we have children. We have a 6 year old girls and 3 year old boy so we are right in the midst of those magical years where they still look into the night skies to see if reindeers can actually fly. I love the season and as you can see I can extend the season as much as I can.

    99 more days until Christmas.
I am the lesson after the fall.

Have we not learned anything in our years here????? I bring up Christmas way too early, annoying some and bringing joy to those who let Christmas touch their hearts throughout the year.

100 days is a long time. Hoping that it goes by quick seems like rooting for life to be over sooner. I can't endorse that at this point in my life lol.

Oh no, you have mistaken my countdown. I just love the Christmas Season, I want it to go slowly. I am in no rush for Christmas to arrive, I want to enjoy everything about the season. This season I get to do something on my bucket list, I get to FLIP our local radio station to Christmas music. A guy at my country club is the local morning dj and we were talking about my love of Christmas and how I enjoyed their Christmas music playlist at which point he offered me to come on and officially flip the station to all Christmas. I am looking forward to that, but I definitely do not want the season to go by quickly.

I was gonna say Mike is the Anti-Grinch but since the Grinch is so closely associated with Christmas, Mike probably likes the Grinch also lol

which sets me to wonder why doesn't the Grinch get involved in other holidays as well. like there should be a story about The Grinch Who Ate The Easter Bunny and Michael Myers Versus The Grinch: Deathmatch At Halloween and The Grinch Ruins The Fireworks. this last one takes place on New Years and gets a Fourth of July sequel

The Grinch only hated all the noise from the town, such as them singing and trying out all their new gifts and playing music. All of which came because of Christmas.

I always refer to Halloween as a speed bump in the way of Christmas! My kids love Hallowe'en, I think they get it from their mother! Lol.

I do love American Thanksgiving though. Ours is too early to be associated with Christmas.

I like Halloween, but man is it overhyped for what it is. I do like fall weather, but in California that was cancelled years ago, so that's not even a thing.

Congrats man, sounds like you have an awesome family and can now Christmas even more special with them. It definitely sounds the kids appreciated what you guys did, and their actions speak volumes. It's like natures way of bringing gifts to those who do good, or some Christmas-like analogy. You know what I mean haha. Christmas is always better with kids around, especially the Santa sightings.

It's always good to meet people who love Christmas man. I want to go to that town in Alaska where it is Christmas all year round. That would be cool to check out.

                                That's the best part though!

It breaks down in cycles, or at least to me it does. First you get the sick Autumn vibes and colors, little cooler weather, football comes on, school hitting its groove, then the scary movies start. Then the decorations come up. Then BAM! It's days until Halloween.

After that, no more than a week later, tops, the Thanksgiving decor comes out. It may not be as beloved as Halloween or Christmas, but it's a good buffer holiday. Get two days off from school, have a short week to close out November, and eat incredible food and play/watch football and start seeing Christmas ads by the end of the night.

Next is December before you know it. Starting December 1st you only have 25 days to enjoy Christmas and get in the spirit. A little over 3 weeks. But they fly, because everything in December is tied to Christmas.

And then as a bonus a guy gets New Years before the long holiday season ends. Come about early October and a guy just starts gettin' hyped.
