    Re: Off-Topic

I think I hit over 10k on at least one, maybe 2 videos.

It was early days of twitter and it felt special when some celeb you tweeted would like/rt you, especially a YouTube video you made, so that helped.

To this day I get random bots once or twice a year liking the tweet from over a decade ago.

But I never get why companies don't want videos on YouTube, even if it contains only a few seconds of a show. I don't know how YouTube monetization works, but if someone posts clips of a video you own the rights to, won't you profit from it and not them? So you're basically collecting free money from other people doing the work instead of your staff.

Mike's taken over TV networks in Canada.

October 14th and they're airing a Christmas commercial.

At this point, companies are doing it just to get people talking aren't they? Whoever is first gets all the talk, even if 99% is "why is ___ airing Christmas commercials already"

Robbie Coltrane, the actor who played Hagrid, passed away.

The obvious sad line to look back on now.

A sad idea I saw someone joke about which I could actually see happening one day.

What if sports leagues/networks had an extra service to watch AD FREE games?

Almost like tiered viewing. Tier 1 is just watching the regular broadcasts as is, with ads on screen, boards, field, sidelines or whatever it may be, with in game ads too like we already have right now.

The next tier up removes all that. You just watch the entire broadcast ad free. During commercial breaks, instead of just getting a "commercial in progress" screen, you get just live footage from the TV camera or something else.

All those digital ads you see pop up during games, on the scorebug, or mentioned from commentators, you get none of that either.

The green screen behind home plate, digital ads now around all hockey boards, nba on court ads, all replaced with nothing.

Since sports games need natural breaks/interruptions for the athletes anyway, I'm totally fine with commercial breaks in sports.

Removing ads wouldn't do much of anything for me, but I do like when YouTube stays with the broadcasters between innings and they do things like read user comments in the chat.

For the love of god though, get the Nike sign off the MLB chest area of the jersey.

I'm driving myself crazy. Wasn't there a rule back in the day that if a receiver went up for the ball but was pushed out while still in the air that the ref had the discretion to determine whether or not it would be a catch if the receiver had not been pushed out?

I still think baseball fielders have to stay in play and not go into the stands for a ball to be called out.

If I know the rule correctly, I believe they only can't have placed a foot on an out-of-play surface by the time of catching the ball.

So if they were leaping in the air and caught it, even if completely over out-of-play area, it is still a catch. Once a foot touches out of play while doing so though, then it is nullified and a foul ball.

You are correct. But they changed it awhile ago. From what I remember it was putting to much judgement in the officials hands without a clear result. Pretty sure the league was afraid that a call like that would cost a team the game in a playoff game/Super Bowl. So they said screw it. Either your feet are down or they aren't regardless of if you were pushed or not.

EDIT: Rule changed in 2008 lol.
