Pumpkin Cheesecake Lasagna is a layer of cheesecake, a layer of a pumpkin pie, and a layer of graham crackers, topped with caramel and pecans.

I'd take down 2-3 of those Chicken Gumbo tacos.

Thought of taking a day off (unpaid) to watch the election returns at home on Tuesday, but it felt like too much. If it was my regular off day it would be perfect, so I guess I will just watch it during work

Having a 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son, definitely slows down my wife and my Christmas decorating abilities. I got 2 of the trees up with the lights on them. We will decorate the trees tomorrow and before football starts on Sunday we will decorate the rest of the house.

So, with 51 days until the big day, that means the Annual Christmas Thread is approaching!!!

I have never ever thought if taking off on election day to watch the results.

We get election day off. The last thing I'm doing is watching anything related to the election.

I remember in high school and college being super into election nights, even the midterms. Then the 2016 election season happened and it was like watching my favorite band become mainstream and trash. Actually my interest had already begun to wane a bit before that, but that whole circus was the end of it.

True, that was more of like a watching a car crash in real time, and then there was the January 6th insurrection.

But it is going to happen regardless of whether I watch it or not, so I rather make the best of it, and try to consume it in an intelligent way (FiveThirtyEight, Nate Silver, Amy Walter, Nate Cohn, Dave Wasserman et al.). Also, trying to have a sane conversation about it on Gamespot :P

As a person who works in the public every day, I'd almost pay people to shut up about politics. No way would I watch anything to do with the election results

Yes, the media (both social media and traditional) have turned politics into a spectator sport. They just focus on the most controversial topics to get their clicks/views/etc.

Me, I'd love if we all just disconnected from it all and grew food in village-type communities, made clothes, meditated, lived a simple life, etc. We can keep the high tech stuff for medical care.

But as it stands, we'll have people dramatically bloviating about the "end of democracy" after the election, as if the way our modern lives have been getting more and more superficial and detached from the actual living of life has been such a great thing anyway.

                              Serenity now!
