Man, we used to have it all. Like 3-4 options to choose from in every sport. 989 made that other game, lol. High Heat baseball, NHL Faceoff, NFL Gameday. Cool names tbh. I went Nintendo and XBOX until PS3 and now PS4 (things a tank) so I missed most of those games. There was NFL Fever on XBOX by MS I think that had some cool features. Animated towels!!
One of the things I liked about Blockbuster. I'd just rent different games each week. Some might be better than others but at least you could just get all you want out of the game playing it all week long and then move to the next one

Speaking of 989, I believe they were the one who had a free online game on NBA.com at one point. Demonstrating the new (at the time) ASW skills challenge, I think Jason Kidd was the player model they used for it. I think they had the 3pt contest too?

Holy nostalgia. You just took me back to when my dad owned a few local video stores, so I got to rent movies and video games for free whenever I wanted. I miss those days.

Granted, this was back around the PS1-PS2 era (more so PS1), but I had one within walking distance from my house that my friends and I would go to all the time. This is where I discovered so many games growing up.

What's funny is I was one of those kids who would always put a disc in another case when swapping discs into the console, so I accidentally returned the wrong disc once. They called me and said: "In our rental case for Driver, we have the disc Backyard Baseball 2001." It's both hilarious and embarrassing because I picture the disc arc of a cartoon Cal Ripken Jr. in kid form smiling and swinging as he opens the case. If you're wondering why I'd swap a PC game with a PSX game, let's just say that it wasn't going into my console, as I might not have been doing something legal with the Driver disc at the time.

I had nintendo as a kid, my dad would take us to the game rental spot and I'd drool over all the playstation options for sports

also, Gameday 98, if I remember right Kurt Warner was the lowest rated player on the game and immediately won the '99 MVP

What's your minimum health score rating for restaurants before you won't eat there? I think I would lke to say 90, but my favorite local greasy spoon diner has an 85 rating currently (its been like this the last couple years or three, I guess because right now its hard to right now, 1, get good help, 2, get enough help). The main reason its my favorite is its open 24 hours and I keep odd hours, to the point I occasionally like to eat out at midnight or one or two in the morning. I just hope I don't eventually get serious food poisoning. If I strangely stop posting here, its ok for you to assume thats what happened to me lol.

So a new coworker is a "bro", including the "bro" this and "bro" that. First I thought he was joking, at one point he said "bro" around 10 times in one minute and I felt I was in a SNL skit. Then I realized it was for real, I'm keeping an open mind but he definitely is checking the boxes of the stereotype so far.

Sometimes I share these little softball moments, so here is another. Pardon my silly editing.

You may or may not know that you can't leave a base in softball until after the pitcher releases the ball. I knew well beforehand that this particular player is notorious for leaving early (entering this game she was 26-for-28 in stolen bases, 18 of them at third base) and I kind of made my team aware of it.

Anyway, here she goes again (it's at half-speed but you'll may hear me yelling "EARLY!"), and it is so egregious that this field umpire literally must've turned a blind eye, because he didn't call her out. Somehow the home plate umpire also missed it.

The voice actor who voiced notable Pokemon characters like Misty, Jessie and various other Pokemon (like Jigglypuff, but I'm not sure if she was the same voice who sung Jigglypuffs song)/characters of the day passed away.

She voiced characters for almost 20 years and its crazy to learn she did so for so long and was only 19 when she first started doing the voices when the show first began.

It was a great time. it was them, 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven. Finger Eleven had the shortest set at like 30 minutes while Creed obviously had the longest set at like 2 hours.

They're playing up here in Sacramento area on Sunday. I tried to get a few people to come with me, but no such luck. Would've been a great show. 3 Doors Down is one of my favorite all-time bands, and Creed has some killer hits from my childhood.

I like how my AC struggled to keep the house cool when it was 95 degrees outside with a heat index of 110 but as soon as it hits the 50s and 60s at night, it's cold as I dont know what in here. It's so cold in here I'm about to use 2 blankets.
