 Re: Off-Topic

So, what does the : mean? I just decided it was going to mean division for the purpose of this exercise and I get 1.

Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

from what I saw, that 36:3 was supposed to infer 36 divided by 3

 Re: Off-Topic

What makes you do the 36/3 before the 3(2)? For me, I did the 3(2) first since the parenthesis are still there, so I wanted to get rid of them first.

Granted, the highest math I took in high school was SPED Math III, so I know nothing. Shout out to STATS 100 and 200 in college that was useless.

 Re: Off-Topic

I think it's just going left-to-right once the operations are "equal". You do parenthesis first, then look for multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction...maybe? I don't remember if there's a rule to do a specific one first or not though. What makes you do the 36/3 before the 3(2)? That's why the answer could be seen as either. If you do the multiplication first, you wind up with the answer of 1. If you do division first, you get 4.Comment

 Re: Off-Topic

Noticing I have this habit of spending a day doing research on say, a game, being ready to buy it but then I'm not able to commit and I go look at something else. It isn't a money issue, just a weird feeling.

My general rule is if I spent that much time on something and don't get it, that means I didn't want it.Comment
