Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
I'm not looking forward to getting calls about John Doe in a local restaurant refusing to wear a mask and refusing to leave.
Also the mask I was provided by work and have to wear makes me feel like I'm being waterboarded...it's way too thick. Whoever bought these things must've put them on two seconds in an air conditioned office and thought they looked cool and felt comfortable.
I’ve found the cloth masks are a little bit easier to breathe in compared to surgical masks that you can get at a hospital. I’m probably gonna start wearing the cloth ones at work now.

Well this isn't going away anytime soon...
POSSIBLE NEGATIVES FROM NO MASKS
- Parts of country stay "shut down"
- Return to normalcy takes longer
- Disease proliferation
- People dying
POSSIBLE NEGATIVES FROM MASKS
- Being labeled a sheep
- Nothing
Can we get a little perspective please [emoji2365]
Any officer that refuses a state/county/etc... mandated order should immediately be terminated. It’s their job to enforce the law, not interpret it and apply it as THEY see fit.

Get off your ****ing high horse and don’t you ever talk down to me, or insinuate that I don’t care about people dying.
You understand?
I’m sick of your holier than thou attitude, and your opinion that your line of thinking is the only right way to approach this pandemic and those who fail to follow don’t give a **** about their fellow man.

PC, take your condescending generalizing attitude and shove it.
That grandma comment was despicable when I have one that is locked down in a nursing home with no freedom in sight.
The lockdown is mentally playing on her and others. She is literally staring at 4 walls all day long and so are others.NFL- Green Bay Packers

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
To effectively contact trace, cases need to be at .3 to 1.0 new cases a day par one million. In Missouri, that would be 2-6 new cases a day. We turned our post peak low point of 135 cases a day to well over 300 cases a day.
We opened without an ability to contact trace. That means, after time, the virus builds momentum again.
Now, no one seems will I go to ge there.
So then it comes down to how many new cases a day are acceptable, as we won’t even try to get a sustained decline.
The original instructions were that stars wait to open until they had two weeks of steady decline. None of the state’s with 3-500 cases a day or more had actually done that.
The idea of the decline is so that as you open slowly, you can react to problems. You can choose to ease and allow the decline to slow, or apply pressure and get the decline again.
Then you have to decide what the right level is. The graph showed that the entire EU is down to 3-4 thousand cases a day, and they are gingerly opening, and closing as spikes happen.
At the current rate, we can’t have pro sports, most youth sports, indoor dining, in-person education, movie theaters. Because those lead to uncontrolled spikes. That is what we are seeing right now.
And it’s more dangerous now than in April because so many of us have grown bored and frustrated with dealing with this. It’s why we need leadership.
We have multiple cities about to go down like NYC, and it’s going to get bad.
This is what thinking 25K new cases a day is tolerable. If we could hang on longer and get it down to closer to 3-5 thousand cases a day, we could actually get the economy back, and not have to beg people to go out.
Goalposts never changed. We never approached the goal posts anyway. There was that moment in mid April as cases were plummeting that I had a bit of hope.
Now, if we decide that all of it is stupid, we could go with Country Boy’s. That is an option. Than is an option with more than a million deaths.
And even if we decide not to choose, we have still made a choice.Comment

Guys...if you can't keep emotions or cheeky comments out of this thread...take a few steps back.
@PC My wife, who works directly with COVID, as the only OT on a COVID unit...is telling me that younger people are starting to have worse reactions with it.
It's an anedoctal view, but she's telling me that even younger people can really get hit hard by it. I think someone like 22 just died on her.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Do young people ever interact with older people?
The more spread, the more bad outcomes. And that has consequences. Like having a heart attack in Houston today means you just die.
Young people getting it is worst possible outcome. They are least likely to have symptoms, but still spread it for weeks at a time.
And we still don’t have a grasp on the full nature of the damage it does to asymptomatic lungs, which show significant damage in studies of asymptomatic infected.
Deaths lag by about two weeks. While we sit around and wait for deaths to pile up, again, the virus will spread even more, making our panic moment in two weeks that much worse.
We’ve seen this play out over and over, and it’s the same people that continue to ignore this.Comment

At this point, whoever doesnt wear a mask is an idiot, and whoever tells me I have to be locked in my house is an idiot. I refuse to be scared of a virus. Im going to continue doing my thing, with my mask on. And after this is over, Ill keep wearing my mask.
And I refuse to be guilt tripped that I am responsible for millions of deaths because ppl do not want me to live my life.
Oh yea. Cloth masks are more comfy than N95s. I own both.Last edited by PeoplesChampGB; 06-27-2020, 01:00 PM.NFL- Green Bay Packers

The stuff I’ve seen it do to young people and their somewhat healthy lungs is scary.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Deaths stats lag, so still remains to be seen if that trend will continue. Also remains to be seen if older people start to get it again as the more its in the community the harder it is for high risk people to stay safe.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
