Basically, Dr. Fauci said that Europe and Asia shut down 95% of their economy while the US only shut down 50% of their economy.

I don't know, I'm a believer you need to open up the economy at some point, can't stay in lock down until there is a vaccine and or therapies out.

In other news, Wisconsin had the highest death count(15) since June yesterday.

But that's his point. By only shutting down 50%, the US ****ed the economy more in the long term. Europe and Asia are way closer to normal now, and their economies will probably bounce back much better than here.

Just looked up Spain's numbers, because they seem to be increasing again, and they are counting antibody tests as new cases. Which is pretty misleading. I hope we aren't doing that.

Ok, those are the same numbers I saw. Spain doesn't explain in their daily summary statement which criteria they're using to classify deaths as due to COVID-19.

Now, the recent rise in new daily cases isn't explained by a change in cases criteria because Spain has been using the same criteria since May 11th.

From March 1st to May 10th Spain's criteria to detect new daily cases was PCR tests + general antibodies tests. From May 11th on they have been using a criteria of PCR tests + IgM tests to detect new daily cases. The rise in new daily cases in Spain started around mid-July.

If they are consistent that is good. But someone testing positive for antibodies should not be lumped in and conflated as if they are the same as new current infections.

This stuff is happening all over the world. People protesting lockdowns, the economic toll all of this is taking, lost jobs, general government incompetence, etc.

And outsiders were applauding the Chancellor of Germany because she is a chemist by trade with her efforts with Covid.

No wonder the people are protesting, since Germany is increasing in cases lately, they are mandating mask not only indoors, but outdoors too.

We just learned that my mom and step-dad both have COVID. They have been pretty careful for the most part and basically, let their guard down by getting peer-pressured into going to a church member's house for dinner two weeks ago.

Multiple members of their church now have it and their 82-year-old pastor was put in hospice today. My mom is 61 and my step-dad is 71 and both of them have underlying health conditions so at this point it's just waiting and hoping that they get better.

If you or one of your loved ones have health problems don't slip up, all it takes is one time.
