Small business owner here, just got the Governor's executive order for all gyms to be closed and I own a gym. The ****ty part is he didn't say for how long.

All of California on lock down now. Only supposed to leave for essentials. Only essential services allowed to stay open. Can still go in nature but must be at least 6ft apart.

I heard this news when i got home from work got off at 8 tonight. I really wish i didn't have to work if this thing is still going for another 1-3 months its basically not will i get it but when will i get it and hopefully it will not be that bad. With this i was confused i was like does that mean cops will be out making sure people are not out driving late at night or something or what.

My friend's gf has all the symptoms. Cough, chest congestion, fever. Yet she refuses to go to the hospital. He's so pissed. I don't understand the stubbornness of these people.

This is the reason why so many people are getting it because these people who refuse to get care are just spreading to everyone around them.

It's selfish and stupid.

Store wasn’t too bad, they even had some toilet paper. The meat section though, my god people are savages. No ground beef, no chicken of any kind, some cuts of pork.

I thought if you had it, the CDC suggested that you stay home and self-care unless you are in absolute need of the hospital. Now, if she isn't staying home and coming in to contact with other individuals without telling them, then that's a different story. But its better to just stay home and quarantine yourself than go to the hospital, as it could spread even more. The hospital can only do so much since its viral. I doubt they would be able to give her anything that would help. Your body basically has to fight it off itself for it to completely go away.

Damn, 40 million people on lockdown. On one hand tomorrow probably going to be the best traffic ever for a Cali highway.

I guess that I'm not going to get those AMEX reports (that were due last Monday) from our Fresno and Stockton jobs now.


For the record, this is a WTH are we still doing here at my job (that could easily be done from home or at least on an at-home/on-call basis with a little effort) and not a shot at CA.

Good morning everyone. Day-1
I'm physically feeling good. No symptoms IE: Fever, Cough or trouble breathing.

On the mental side, I'm hanging in there. Checking in with family and friends.

My plan is to go to my dad's wake later today and basically try as much as possible to social distance, but it's not gonna be easy.

I know I'm gonna wanna hug my brothers and sisters. It's a normal damn reaction during moments of grief.

Oh yeah, for sure.

My company is too old school and isn't forward-thinking enough to let people work from home (even though all of our software is web-based). They're too worried about employees screwing them by slacking off working from home and are going to end up screwing themselves even more if a group of us get sick.

Basically, the memo that they sent out said that if you or one of your loved ones gets sick, then you have to use up all of your sick and vacation time, once that's used up (or if you don't have any) then you go on unpaid leave for up to 12 weeks. In my opinion, that's just going to cause people to hide their symptoms because a lot of people can't afford to go weeks without pay. I guess we'll see how it goes but I think as long as someone important (ie a shareholder) doesn't get sick, then we'll probably be here for the long haul.
