Not only do I enjoy the layout, as you may have seen I use it myself but I love the Q&A format. The career mode is enjoyable to read and I hope you do well with Cardiff.

Just want to start this out by saying thanks to everyone who's given me nothing but great feedback on my careers so far. I'm really glad you guys enjoy reading it, sorry I haven't been updating frequently but I was down with an eye infection.

Seems a bit tough losing Mutch. For me, he's a standard buy in any English career. Cheap and good to start with and he develops into a world-class player. Excellent anywhere in midfield and capable as an emergency CF/ST in the worst of cases. However for 10 mil you should be able to bring in an adequate replacement such as Jonathan Williams or Nathaniel Chalobah, depending on where you planned to play Mutch.

I think a bit of that 10 mil can also go towards sprucing up what I think is a team with a poor defence. Alternatively you can wait until January and sign some talented defensive lads for free, like Musacchio and Tettey. Best of luck on that, might I suggest loaning in a few boys as well if the window is still open.

As for Striker it all depends on which type you like. Do you want a dribbler who can create on his own? I speedster who uses his pace to break away from defenders? Or a Target man who is the big guy in the middle you send crosses into and who does well in hold up play?

I picked out these guys since they don't have crazy starting ratings (although I'm not sure what they will be at by 2017 where you are), but the main factor was that none of them are in an especially prestigious league. I think it's realistic to think that a club in the Championship that just got a huge budget looking to spend big is likely to be playing in the Premier League in a year and they could be attracted to that.
I bought all of those players all solid players 75+ overall ex adept from kouyate who I didn't buy, teams looking solid now just looking to get a keeper I'm thinking scuffet

So my CB is 28 year's old, he has the highest value on my roster at just over $1 million and I bet I could get 2-3 times that much if I sell him. He's in his prime. I think I'll do it, his replacement will be a low 60's CB who's younger and the money will allow me to get more depth/talent. Most of the guys I keep inquiring about are worth over $1 million as well so it's gonna be tough, I'm gonna have to be more patient than I thought. I only have over $2 million in budget right now and I think for the first time I'll be asking the board for more money, have y'all ever done that? Is asking for $10 million unrealistic?

            Making Them Dream
            SEASON 3

            Match 24

            Spurs 0-1 Liverpool
            Morata 20
Fielding a reserve side, we defended valiantly and kept them out. The only goal of the game came through a header by Morata.

            International Friendlies

            England 2-0 France
            Cahill 5
            Johnson 81

In my first match as England manager, Chelsea's Gary Cahill headed in an early corner from Sterling. Our former Liverpool, now free agent right back Glen Johnson scored a goal on the rebound of a Rooney shot late on. It show's the state of the countries right-backs when our first choice is a free agent who no-one wants to sign.

            Poland 0-0 England
Quite a drab game. The only bit of action was when Blaszczykowski had a penalty saved by West Brom keeper Daniels.

            Match 25

            Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace
            Balotelli 43
            Hummels 68

Balotelli smashed in from distance and Hummels headed in from a corner to win this game.

Champions League Last 16 Leg 1

            Liverpool 1-1 Borussia Dortmund
            Allen 38
            Mkhitaryan 53

Playing a weakened side, Joe Allen ran through and fired across goal into the bottom corner. Not far into the second half, Mkhitaryan did the same for a crucial away goal for the Germans.

            FA Cup Last 16

            Liverpool 3-0 West Ham
            Pastore 30
            Shaw 48
            Sterling 60

Pastore cut inside to open the scoring in this game on the half hour mark. After half time, Shaw made a surging run down the left and somehow his cross looped over the keeper and in. Sterling ran clear to win it on the hour mark.

            League Cup Final

            Liverpool 6-1 Manchester City
            Balotelli 7
            Rodriguez 10
            Rodriguez 25
            Pastore 39
            Guidetti 61
            Fernando 63
            Ings 79

We are champions, and in style. I don't think I have ever scene such a massacre in terms of football scores in a cup final. Balotelli headed in from a corner early on, and immediately from kick off, Rodriguez won the ball and beat the defence to score. He was then played through Balotelli to smash in before Pastore headed in the 4th. Guidetti hit a goal back but we ran forward and Fernando converted a rebound. Substitute Ings ran clear to smash in and seal a straight forward victory.

            February Thoughts

League Cup champions, finally. We hadn't won that one yet. And in style too, this team is amazing. What's more we have won every league game this season still, and I think we can do the impossible now and win every game.

            Next Match: MANCHESTER UNITED

Thanks so much Jamie, as with indiblue I am a huge fan of yours, your Liverpool career mode is brilliant, I look forward to reading your career mode as it develops further. I'm glad you like the layout, I've tried other arrangements but I think that is what I shall go for and stick with. I'm also really glad you are enjoying the content. The Q&A format is something which will continue throughout and although it is a lot of work I'm glad to see it is paying off.

Again thank you for your feedback, the money has been spent and you shall see that in the next post which should be going up after I have posted this. Mutch is a huge loss to the team but as you have pointed out 10 million is more than enough to bring in a new replacement. Musacchio is actually a player I will be looking to bring in a he is excellent and I may then be able to change around the formation. I hope you recover quickly and I look forward to your posts when you recover.

If the team isn't financially strong they'll more than likely deny a request of that magnitude. You can try to convince them by raising your manager objectives, but if they don't have the money they don't have it. They might deny your request, but send you a counter offer of what they CAN afford to give you and leave it up to you to accept or deny it. If it was flat out too much, they'll just deny it and tell you you're crazy lol give it a shot! You won't lose anything by asking

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Hey guys have a quick question. I am going to continue to post my Liverpool career mode but I also want to do another alongside it so I was hoping you could tell me who you would like to see out of these options.

                    Toronto FC

                    League: MLS
                    Budget: £1.3 million
                    Wages: £282,000

I have never done a career mode in the MLS before, mainly because I don't fancy the word soccer (jk). I thought Toronto would be a good side because of their recent signings of Defoe, Bradley and Cesar, giving me team that is on the rise that has never reached the playoffs.

                    Coventry City FC

                    League: FL League 1
                    Budget: £475,000
                    Wages: £79, 750

As my home town team, I know quite a bit about them. I usually do a career with them but I haven't this year. After financial troubles, they were kicked out of their own stadium and now play in Northampton, not even in their own city.

                    Atalanta

                    League: Serie A
                    Budget: £5 million
                    Wages: £532,000

I don't know much about them I just know that they are a mid table side that I could work into a Europa League spot at some point.

                    Crystal Palace

                    League: Premier League
                    Budget: £6 million
                    Wages: £388,000

As a team that just got promoted, I didn't want to choose Cardiff because TauterHat is doing a great job as manager and I don't want to get him sacked . Jokes aside Palace have a decent budget and could be quite fun to play with and try and emulate their success this season.

                    QPR

                    League: FL Championship
                    Budget: £7.5 million
                    Wages: £600,000

QPR are there because of the ability to go straight back up, and when they do, having the quality of player to stay there. With great players like Remy, Cesar and Granero coming back, it could be fun to play with them.

                    Real Madrid

                    League: La Liga
                    Budget: £80.5 million
                    Wages: £2,547,000

Just here to give you the option of having a great team and an even greater budget to read about. Could be fun having the best players in the world at my disposal.

Thank you. Nice to see that you are enjoying reading my career. Sorry about losing Mutch but as indiblue pointed out £10 million is a lot of money. He suggested some great Englishmen and I see you are going in for Musacchio. May I suggest trying to sign some players on pre-contract. Grenier is available first season and he has some great technical stats which could fill the hole left by Mutch for next season. Once again, great career.

I'm definitely planning on raising the objectives. I have no clue how much money they're willing to invest but anything really would help. I hope they do counter and I hope $10 million isn't much. I had the audacity to ask for that right away and they told me it was too soon and to get back with them after the season. I'll definitely give it a shot.

RC Deportivo fresh off a relegation from La Liga after spending only one year in the top flight of Spanish football have agreed to part ways with interim manager Fernando Vazquez. Much speculation circled around who would be brought in to replace him. Ultimately the club announced a shocker with the appointment of American, Scott Redding. While the fans were shocked, the were hopeful that a change is what was needed. However, with a small transfer budget of only 250k, Redding was going to have his work cut out of him.

                          Press Conference

Q: Congratulations on your appointment. This is a club that was in La Liga only last year, but they still have given you very little to work with in terms of budget. How do you feel about the transfers you completed in this first window considering the limited funds?

A: Ultimately I have what the board decides to provide me. It is my job then to go out and build the best team possible. This team still has plenty of talent, so only a few spots were what I considered in need of an immediate upgrade. There were a couple of players I would of liked to keep around, but we had some good offers come in and I knew we could put those funds to good use. I am excited about adding Jodan Obita and Rani Khedira. Those are two players that I feel will be able to contribute to this club for a long time.

Q: Was there any other positions you wanted to fill out that you weren't able to? Will you be looking to make more moves come January?

A: I feel the back line could use a little more depth. The experience and leadership of Manuel Pablo is invaluable, but at 37 it is time to start looking for his replacement for the future. It would be great if we could get someone in this next window so that they could learn what it means to play for this club from a club legend such as Manuel. There's also some help that could be needed on the wings as far as depth goes, but we will see if the funds allow us to get that far.

Q: We noticed that you made it a priority to expand the Youth Academy for the club. Do you believe a focus on youth is what this club needs right now?

A: Young players a major part of football all around the world. I believe we have brought in a scout who can find us players that could be great for this club. As of yet we have not signed any young players officially to the academy, but he is looking all over Spain to find us our players of the future. I know that these funds could of been used for transfers, but I feel that the long-term implications of having a positive youth system is too important to ignore. The earlier we got it going, the better. I have to get going now, thank you everyone for your time. I think we had a successful start of the season, and we hope that we can carry on our form into October and beyond.

                              Cardiff City Career Mode

Thanks for all the positive feedback I got after the last few posts. It really means a lot and it looks like the hard work I've put in to make these posts good has paid of. Anyway, let's get on with the career mode.

Interview before the game at home to Everton

Geoff Shreeves - Mr. BossMan, the departure of Jordan Mutch to Chelsea has been finalised and he has left for a fee of £10 million, what are your thoughts on this transfer?

BossMan - Well I wouldn't have accepted the deal if I didn't feel it was good business for the club. Jordan is a great player but there are plenty more and the fee was too good to turn down. Chelsea basically made me and the club, an offer we just couldn't refuse, so we went ahead with it. I feel that reason is good enough and who know who we will bring in as a replacement. I have my eye on a number of great talents so hopefully we can bring in one of them.

GS - Can I ask who?

BM - You can, but my answer will be "no comment"

GS - OK, then I won't waste my breathe. In your last game, you played, and I quote "poor" and lacked "cutting edge". Have any changes been made to the team today?

BM - Yes, the necesarry changes have been made and you can see them on the team list. I'm not giving anything away this time.

GS - OK then, finally Hull have not one a game from their first three games, does this give you hope of a win.
BM - Look, Hull are a good team, they have good players and I have a lot of respect for Steve Bruce. However it looks as though they are struggling in the Premier League and maybe we can take the three points this time. Cheers Geoff.

Interview after 2-1 defeat at home to Hull City

Geoff Shreeves - BossMan, that's three defeat's in a row, perhaps this was the most winnable and yet you take no points from it. Is there something your doing wrong or are these just hard games?

BossMan - Well obviously we're doing something wrong or otherwise we would have taken 9 points from these last three games. If your asking me what I think the issue is, I would say our lack of clinical finishing is costing us. If you look at the match stats, we had 3 times as many shots as Hull, and half of these were on target. Allan McGregor was excellent, but we should have buried at least one of the chances.

GS - In the 31st minute you had a penalty shout, was it a penalty?

BM - I appealed for it, and so did the players but to be honest I thought Mark Clattenberg made an excellent decision. It wasn't a penalty I don't think.

GS - Could the Jordan Mutch departure have a bad impact on your season.

BM - This is one game which we lost after the Jordan Mutch sale. I think anyone making that judgement is sorely mistaken and needs to learn that one player does not make a team. We have plenty of talent and if we can bring in an able replacement for Jord then I'm certain we can get that mid-table finish. It's going to be hard work but we need to put that work in.

GS - Your next match is against Spurs, it doesn't get any easier does it?

BM - No of course not, we're in the most competetive league in the world. Every game is going to be difficult and we have to show character in order to stay up this season, but I thoroughly believe we can do that. Cheers Geoff.

Press Conference after 2-1 defeat to Spurs.

Question - That's now four defeats in a row, how do you plan on beating this bad streak?

BossMan - As I have said week-in-week-out the only way we can start to get some wins in this league is through hard work and at the moment I feel like the players could put in an extra 15% to get us over that line. At the moment we are sat 3rd bottom in the league. That isn't terrible but I expect more from the boys in the future.

Question - There are rumours that you have your eye on Southampton's Jay Rodriguez and Borussia Dortmund's Milos Jojic as possible replacements for Jordan Mutch. Can you confirm these rumours

BM - I am a huge admirer of both players. Jay would work well in the team, he's quick, a great dribbler and can finish chances well. Milos is a huge talent in world football, he's excellent both physically and technically and I think would combine well with both Magnus (Wolf Eikrem) and Gary (Medel) to give a hugely talented midfield. As of yet, no offers have been put in, but I cannot promise no offer's will be put in.

Question - It is obvious the problem in your team is a lack of cutting edge and clinical finishing. Currently you are playing Danny Ings as a single striker and so the blame has to be placed on him. Do you agree?

BM - I think the blame could be placed slightly on him, there are some chances he hasn't finished but although he is the only striker, he isn't the only attacked. I feel the blame should be placed equally on all the attackers to be honest.

Question - Finally, Joe Mason was recently spotted leaving a nightclub in the early hours of the morning on the day before a match. Your thoughts please.

BM - Joe's a young lad, I don't want him to think it is acceptable by all means, but I'm sure he will learn in the future that you cannot be doing things like that on a match day. He will be fined by the club and will hopefully learn sooner rather than later that actions have consequences. Thanks for your time.

Interview after 5th defeat in a row at hands of Fulham

Geoff Shreeves - BossMan this is your 5th defeat in a row now, what do you have to say?

BossMan - When I took this job I knew it would be hard, but not this hard. The boys had no drive out there. There was no hunger for a victory on their faces. The attacked with no creativity, no impetus and we defended in a very lackluster manor. On the bright side I thought David (Marshall) was stunning today. However it is another loss to the tally and we now sit rock bottom.

GS - Last night the first call for your sacking was tweeted, your opinion?

BM - This is a plea to the fans, I need time. I know we have got of to a rocky start but we will see better days soon. Believe me. You have to trust me that I know what I am doing and although the boys and I haven't started brilliantly, things will get better.

GS - You have a game against Newcastle next, what changes will be made, and will any signings be made this deadline day, if any,

BM - We are very close to signing one player who will benefit out squad hugely. Other than that, changes will be made when I see fit. There will be changes but I cannot say where yet. Anyway cheers Geoff, I have a deadline day to attend.

BREAKING NEWS - CARDIFF CITY SIGN JAY RODRIGUEZ FOR A FEE OF 6,250,000. WE WILL GET MANGERS THOUGHTS SHORTLY.

Press Conference after deadline day signing of Jay Rodriguez

Question - BossMan you have signed Jay Rodriguez, why?

BossMan - As I have said previously Jay brings so much to the table in terms of his ability. He is quick, skillful and is a tremendous striker of the ball. At such a young age, I cannot ask for much more. Him and Wilf (Zaha) should work well on the wings together.

Do you think he will replace Jordan Mutch

BM - Yes, I do actually. I think this young man has vast amounts of talent but also plays very differently to Mutch. I think he should prove to be an excellent signing and you lot will just have to wait and see if he proves to be just that. Thanks for your time guys.

Well, that's it. Another post finished. Once again I hope you enjoyed it, I put a lot of work into this one and I hope it shows. I am aware the date for deadline day is about a month out with the actual fixtures, that's just a mistake on my part which shouldn't prove to be too major. Otherwise any feedback will be hugely appreciated and until next time, see ya.

Ginter got his first for the club by expertly smashing in from the edge of the box after a corner, a striker's finish. Allen made it 3 after firing the ball across goal before Shea got one back, curling in with Martins Indi nowhere to be found.

                                Pedro 76

After some brilliant saves by Akinfeev, Balo finally got it past him with a powerful shot into the far corner. We doubled our advantage when Lallana stopped the ball on the edge of the box and brilliantly curled the ball into the top corner. After going 2 goals up though, the defence got complacent and let Pedro fire in.

                                March Thoughts

We have once again played outstandingly. The win at the Nou Camp topped the month off perfectly.
