Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    Northampton
    Season 1

    July/August

    League Objective: Fight for Promotion

    Transfers In:
2* Scout who will be scouting in England
Alefe Santos from Bristol Rovers $130,000
    Ramy Rabia Free Agent
Sam Slocombe from S****horpe United for $250k + Dean Snedker
Luke Moore from AFC Wimbledon for $200k + Ricky Ravenhill

    Tansfers Out:
    Ivan Toney to Morecambe $110,000
Alan Connell to Yevoil Town $160,000
    David Moyo to Bohemians Loan
Dean Snedker to S****horpe as part of a trade
Ricky Ravenhill to AFC Wimbeldon as part of a trade

    League
    Northampton 1 - 0 Oxford United
    Marquis 70'
A good game maybe should have scored more but good defensively and it needs to stay that way. Alefe Santos made his debut and got an assist.

    Capitol One Cup
    Northampton 2 - 1 Swindon Town
    Nicholls 29‘
    Nicholls 45‘
    N‘Guessan 81‘

Makes it two wins in a row now that’s a good start. Sadly Sinclair dislocated his shoulder blade in the 14‘ minute and will be out 8 weeks but Nicholls stepped up and did the job well.

    League
    York City 0 - 1 Northampton
    Oyebanjo 25‘ (OG)
Unlucky for York City to lose like that but hey that’s football right? A good defensive show by us but we had almost nothing going forward.

    League
    Northampton 1 - 0 Fleetwood
    Hackett 64‘
This was another “lucky“ goal with the shot going way wide only to be deflected by a defender into the back of the net. Our strikers need to figure out how to finish a ball if we want a real chance at promotion.

    League
    Burton Albion 0 - 1 Northampton
    Carter 90‘
A close game that came down to the end. It felt good to get the three points and we hope we can use this win to give the motivation to score some more goals.

    J. Paint Trophy
    Northampton 2 - 1 S****horpe
    Dickenson 6‘
    Ravenhill 24‘
    Robertson 26’ RED CARD
    Burton 27‘ (PEN)

A good match the lads really showed their character and determination when they held the lead for the rest of the game a man down. As for the red card I have no idea what Robertson was thinking the man was on the touchline with no one to pass the ball to all Robertson had to do was contain him outside but instead he slides in for the ball and the man goes down it was a definite red I‘m disappointed with him.

    League
    Northampton 1 - 0 Newport
    Marquis 90‘
An even match contested till the last whistle a good three points for us. Moore had a decent debut nothing special but he put in a good performance.

    TABLE:
    1. Hartlepool - 15 pts
    2. Northampton - 15 pts
    3. Bury - 13 pts
    4. Portsmouth - 13 pts
    5. Bristol Rovers - 12 pts
    6. S****horpe - 11 pts
    7. Rochdale - 11 pts

(All teams have 5 matches played.)

    Q. Steve you had a great first month here what do you thing is behind your success?

    A. All of the success is from the players they all work 110% everyday all day and that is all I can ask from them that and the board has a lot of faith in my ability which always helps.

    Q. Some people have been a bit harsh on your signings saying they are a waste of the wage budget, specifically Ramy Rabia.

    A. He is by no means a waste of the budget. He his not a starter but he provides depth and when we are involved in three cups plus the league that is what we need the starting eleven in my opinion will be strong enough to be promoted so all we really needed was the depth.

    Q. We have heard you setup a youth academy is this true?

    A. Yes we plan to search around the UK to bring in talent so we can compete at the highest level.

    Q. Do you have any youth prospects yet?

    A. We have not signed anybody into the academy as of right now but we plan to in the near future, I’ll let you know when that happens.

Great player that I regret benching in my seasons in League 1 & 2 but it had to be done. Once more opportunities came up for him he became a vital player for me but that wasn't until the Championship. Looking forward to seeing how he does for you!

Thanks! They where my favorite out of all the league 2 teams that I tried out and have a good squad which makes it easier for me to get my youth academy started up. Hopefully Moore can find some good form and start doing work. he did good in his one game so far but I am finding it quite difficult to score just cannot seem to take my chances frequently enough. Plus I have so many games in such a small time frame it's frustrating.

He was also found while scouting for wingers. I'm telling you guys Japan and South Korea have some hidden gems. It's the perfect place to send your scouts to in low budget CM's.
Dude, how do you manage this? So many times, my youth players come in with like 60-65 acceleration and sprint speed.

Bristol City owner reveals stadium plan 'hell'

1 June 2013 — Steve Lansdown says getting the League One club's stadium redevelopment under way ends "years of hell".

City had hoped to relocate to a nearby site, but the move was severely delayed by an application for a town green. Instead, a £40m revamp of their current home, Ashton Gate, will take place over the next two years, though Bristol Rugby will not be playing there from next season as originally planned.

"It's a relief," Lansdown told BBC Radio Bristol before the start of the renovation. "I've been through six or seven years of hell trying to get a new stadium for Bristol City. We've now reverted to making Ashton Gate a first-class stadium, and we're now at a point where we can start."

Plans were approved in 2009 for Bristol City to move to a new site at Ashton Vale, but fervent opposition by residents resulted in two planning inquiries and an abandoned judicial review.

The club confirmed last year that they had opted to rebuild their current home, and plans were approved in November. The first stage of the redevelopment started on 27 April, with the pitch being dug up and replaced. The Wedlock, Williams, Atyeo and Dolman stands will now be rebuilt, and Bristol City will continue to play at the ground during the renovation. Final capacity is expected to be around 35,000, and promotion to the top flight would likely see that increase by as much as 15,000.

"The memories of the East End [Wedlock] will be there, and it will be sad to see it disappear, but this is a new beginning," said Lansdown. "To see it come down and the new stand start to go up is the start of what I believe will be a purple patch for the club. Am I disappointed Ashton Vale didn't take place? Of course I am. But I'm pragmatic. The reality is this is what we can do and we can do it now."

Billionaire businessman Lansdown became involved at City in 1996 and is thought to have invested over £50m in a bid to take them to the Premier League. Despite having been relegated from the Championship under Sean O'Driscoll, who was dismissed at the end of last season, their chances are likely to improve dramatically after the appointment of a new manager later this month, and Lansdown believes the stadium redevelopment could help them reach the top flight.

"Seeing teams like Cardiff and Hull going back up there again gives us all hope," added Lansdown. "Hull, in terms of stadium size and fan base, are smaller than Bristol City. There's a great opportunity for us when we get it right. We've turned the corner this season to start getting things in the right place, to build us a Premier League outfit."

Earlier this year, Lansdown cleared £35m of the club's debt, reducing the Robins' net deficit to around £23m despite losses of nearly £13m in the last financial year, all by restructuring part of his investment from loans to shares.
Remaining debts are interest free with no repayment date set, though one fiscally prudent season in the Premier League without relegation would likely wipe that out as well.

            Robins unveil new manager

30 June 2013 — Bristol City announced today that Indi Blue, a former youth and first team assistant coach at Arsenal and Chelsea, has been named as manager. He has signed a three-year contract and is reportedly expected to guide the Robins back to the Championship by the end of the 2013-14 season. Below are excerpts from his first press conference.

Congratulations and welcome to Bristol City, Indi. How are you feeling?

Thanks. I feel extremely thrilled and quite confident to be in charge of a club of this stature. I'd like to publicly thank Steve Lansdown for his incredible faith and support. I had offers from two or three other clubs, but Steve is a big reason why I joined Bristol. It's important to have a supportive owner and chairman; someone who is generous yet sensible when it comes to investment and development. My compatriot Baichung Bhutia was supposed to take charge of Bury this season, but that unfortunately did not work out for him. That makes me the first Indian to manage in the Football League, and I find that to be a tremendous honour.

What are your plans for the club?

As you know, the renovations mean that we're going to have lower attendances than most other clubs in the division. Despite that, I intend to take this club to the Championship playing some fine football. To do that, I'll draw on all my coaching experience and football knowledge.

So can we expect a lot of signings from Arsenal and Chelsea?

Yes and no. Thankfully, I left both clubs on the best of terms, and both Arsene and Jose have been generous enough to offer me first choice on some of their most exciting youth players. Now, given our budget as well as the plans of those two clubs in the top flight, you can safely assume that we won't be buying a host of players. This is a very strong team, and I'll be looking to supplement it with a few lads on loan.

            You're not buying anyone?

I'm not saying I will, and I'm not saying I won't. We need to find the right lad at the right price, and if I can be very honest with you, not many talented players will want a permanent move to a club in League One unless we can convince them otherwise. If the right situation presents itself, we will make a move, but you can expect the bulk of our transfer activity this season to be loan deals.

Are you looking to make any changes to the club culture?

I will respect Bristol City's traditions and customs, but I'm afraid that on the footballing side, it's going to be a lot like Arsenal when Arsene first joined. I'm also looking to introduce sports science as a major component of how we run the club. I've already spoken with the lads, and while they seem slightly reluctant to give up their crisps and pints, they all understand the benefits it will bring them in the long run. I'm just thankful to have an entire squad that has given me its immediate and unquestioning trust, and I think they will adapt very well to this new system of playing and living.

            What about the fans?

They're the best in the world. It might take a while for the results of our new fitness and nutrition regimen to show on the pitch, and we might not do well in the opening games as the lads try to grasp my methods. However, by the end of this calendar year, we will be in full swing, and the fans will have plenty to cheer about.

Karl Robinson has criticised your appointment as 'foolish' and 'premature'. Do you have a response?

Yes. It's rather big talk for the manager of MK Dons, especially when he was appointed at such a young age himself. He of all people should know that age and experience are not the be-all and end-all of managerial success, but I expect no grace or consideration from anyone associated with MK Dons. I'm quite sure his attitude would be different were I English, British or even European.

Are you accusing Karl Robinson of being a bigot?

            That's for you to decide.

You seem to be making enemies already. Any friends in the game?

First of all, I want no friendship with anyone related to MK Dons. Secondly, plenty of managers have already sent me messages of congratulations. As well as Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, Chavez at Wimbledon sent me a nice letter through his media contact Chico Bass. I've also received kind words from Jamie C. of Coventry City, V. Rabbit of Dagenham, Moose of West Ham (who also offered us a couple of tidy loan deals), Surajreet of Southend, Lethal Fish of Portsmouth, and Tex Bumosix of Morecambe. I also hear Wolves are set to name a new manager soon, and I'm sure he'll be a cracking bloke. I even got messages of support from RSG of Porto and Simon Gancherribia of Athletic Club, both managers of huge European sides. You see, one idiot does not represent dozens of other great men.

Glad to hear you speak your mind. Good luck for the coming season.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy what we do.

My top striker Sam Baldock spent six years at Dons and played 100+ games. I'll need to rid him of the MK influence.

Man I really had to fight for that win too. They are a tough 3 points for sure. Watson turned 16 like a week after I posted my squad for the season haha. But he came in at 71 OVR! I've been using Watson for league matches and Itandje for cup matches so that they both get time. I might sell Itandje in January though since he has a £6,000 salary which is by far the highest on my team. As for my January strategy, since I'm doing so well currently in the league I might try to go for 1 big pre-contract signing which that £6,000 would come in handy then. Haven't decided yet.

                            REVIVE TORRES

A good month for us. One embarrassing result, but we won the one that mattered. The first one.

                            Atletico Madrid 2 - 0 Athletic Bilbao
                            Torres 33'
                            Juanfran 87'

                            Getafe 2 - 0 Atletico Madrid
                            Michel 56'
                            Paulinho 83'

                            Valencia CF 0 - 1 Atletico Madrid
                            Alderweireld 42'

                            Atletico Madrid 3 - 0 Alaves
                            Torres 28'
                            Torres 46'
                            Suarez 62'

                            Elche 1 - 0 Atletico Madrid
                            Perez 60'

Alright, so two embarrassing results... So, now, instead of only Reus being the one sold, my goalkeeper, Jan Ablak, is also being sold. In the Getafe game, they scored of the FK because they kicked it straight at him, just a little above, and he stood there and watched it go in. Anyway, here's the table.

                            Now, to the press conference.

Q: How were the results this month?

A: For the most part good, disappointing to drop points to both Getafe and Elche. However, they are quality teams.

Q: Do you believe you are capable to win the league?

A: Yes, but we need to make changes in January. After that, we are good to go.

Q: How does the future of this team look?

A: Very positive. We currently have a strong team and we have youth players coming up.

That'll be all for the press conference, but real quick, I want to tell you real quick how insane Ronaldo is. In the first two months he scored 3 goals. In the last 2 months he scored 15 GOALS. 15. WTF. Sorry Torres, Ronaldo put a magnet in the ball and in the net. I. Am. Speachless. Hope you enjoyed.
