He fell out of favor with the Milan brass it seems. Also, I don't think reality is coming for me....

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm appreciating the offers I'm getting from clubs like Blackburn and Norwich City. Yes, managing in the Premiere League would be cool. Yes, your budgets and the pay raise you'll be giving me are also nice.
But with all that extra money, your clubs are barely better than mine.
So, I'll stay in Scotland for less money. Besides, I have unfinished business.Comment

But then again, I still have this mission of getting Glasgow Rangers back to the top. Still need to vault past Celtic.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
My league form has been good. The past two seasons, Celtic has beat me for the title by 19 points. With 12 matches to play, Celtic hold a 7 point edge on me. We were tied at Match Day 13, but a poor run of form in December and January caused me to drop behind 10 points. Celtic finally lost a match after seven straight wins and I was able to take advantage. Celtic's magic number currently sits at 30 points (if my math is right).
My board, realizing that I have a realistic shot at chasing down Celtic, opened up the coffers and gave me some extra funds. Picked up Victor from PSV for $5.75m and Darko Grbic (regen midfielder) for $4m from Maribor. Also, I'm in the process of getting Lewis MacLeod back into form after he missed two months following a damaged knee ligament while on Scotland duty.
Flamed out in the group stages of Europa, finishing last in my group with no wins and 3 draws. Too many injuries to overcome at the start of the competition, and once I was eliminated, I fielded B teams for the last two group matches. Disappointing, considering we advanced to the second knockout round last season.
Flamed out in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup to Hearts by a 4-1 scoreline. That was very disheartening, as it was only the second time I've lost to Hearts in this save, the first being back when I was toiling in the lower leagues.
My reserves are in the finals of the League Cup, potentially keeping alive my streak of earning at least one trophy a season since I started at Rangers. Will face Dundee United in the final.Comment

Trying not to get relegated from Vanarama Conference for 2nd straight year, wheeeeeee. Currently at 23rd with 39 points, the 20th ranked team has 43 points. 5 games left in the season and I got bunch of top 5 teams leftI'm going back down to the lowest league for sure.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I finally got a good save up and running. Started unemployed with the lowest coaching license and Sunday League Player status. I have a ton of leagues loaded, including all of Europe, which isn't a problem thanks to my speedy computer. Applied for jobs in the summer and had interviews with a Scottish L1 side(failed), 2 2nd tier Russian teams(failed), and an English L2 side(failed).
All vacant jobs were filled and I was still jobless in August. By the end of September, a few jobs opened up and I applied for them all. Woking, in the Vanarama Conference, offered me an interview on October 1st and I was offered the job a few days later. I accepted the task of keeping this team out of relegation, as they are barely out of the zone in 20th place. It is quite early in the season, though.
The club are over-spending on wages, which is just...the best. Oh, and my starting keeper is out for 5 weeks and I have to use a below-average youngster in his place. So there's that. Hopefully I can build some success at Woking to launch my coaching career. Very challenging, but I have a lot of fun with it.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I got relegated because I blew a 2-1 lead late and tied. If I had won that game, I would have survived because I had a higher goal differential, but since I tied, I finished 24th and back to the lowest league.Comment

Relegation battles are intense, good luck.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Oh they're better than quite a few others at that level, for sure. It still won't be easy, the team I took over was in awful form(6 straight losses) and suffered numerous injuries with little squad depth.
Hoping to strike some loan deals from clubs willing to still pay the player's wages, so I don't have to take a hit in the wage budget.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
that's what I usually do at that level. Raid EPL team's U19 teams. I forget what the limit is on long term loans at that level. Is it 4 or more than that?Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
A good way to bring in players at that level is to look at released youth players from premier league and championship teams. These players are good enough to compete at the low levels and are pretty cheap.
Most of the time they have league 2 or even league 1 potential so they could help you in future as you move up.Comment
