Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

    Good News:
Year 2 worked, I've made it so that right now, the winner of the Toyota League Cup, and the US Cup get places in the NACL(since there is no Europa equivalent that I'm aware of).
File Extensions for all of the clubs have worked
    Logos are 1/2 done.

    Bad News:
I've had to recreate the MLS entirely due to the hard coded transfer rules, because of the change in season dates, and the wonky American rules it made it impossible to do a transfer inside the MLS (like moving Thierry Henry to the Galaxy) was able to purchase Viktor Fischer from Ajax as per usual.

Contracts get kind of messy in the first two years, as all MLS contracts are scheduled to end December 31st, not June 30th, this is something that would take a great deal of time to fix, and most of the marquee players don't move anyway.

We're now moving into Test Season 4. This one I'll still be unemployed and observing.

Happy birthday to me! We're like 7 points out of the promotion playoffs (5th place because of goal differential) with 8 matches to go. Won our last three fixtures, hopefully we keep this run going. I would love a shot at premier league money. i think its like 3mil for last place.

P.S. photobucket only worked for the one picture so i used a different website for the top picture lol
I used to put important things here

Logos complete! Will upload a .zip soon(if you have a preferred site, please let me know)

In the final testing stages now, I'm going to try and get five seasons into this "new MLS" structure I tried to create, make sure there is no crashing.

I'll most likely be posting the database and logos tonight so you guys can give me feedback. This is still a very raw project, and I'm open to all suggestions.

ROFL, Apparently I'm terrible at logos. I'm gonna see what's available through the metallic logo pack, possibly rename teams as needed. (no really, I'm that bad)

Not to discourage (not what I am trying to do at all) but there is this.

            http://community.sigames.com/showthr...rk-in-Progress

Also, most of the many tiered DBs out there aren't made using the SI editor - just too much stuff that it doesn't do.

For a US with relegation/promotion (instead of closely emulating how it is now) here's a fictional one http://community.sigames.com/showthr...tional-9-Tiers)

Oh no, it's just not just the regular editor, I've been messing with the XML files, I just don't want to bore anyone with details, and it's nothing too extensive.

I've been keeping up with the first one(the second one I wasn't impressed with, personally, which led to me making my own), I just felt the scope and ideals of the first one weren't really in line with what I really wanted to do. I wanted a fairly basic, straightforward system. It was also imperative that I remove the silly American restraints on the MLS.

My idea was much like the second one, just not as buggy, and a smaller scope. I wanted a reason to play more than one season in America, lol.

Also, I wanted a fair amount of jobs open right away, it definitely makes the game more interesting.

Good to hear, I'm always interested in reading what progress you've made That stuff is a bit out of my scope of things as I haven't dug into the details all too much.

The official forums are such a great resource for DB changes and additions, and I'm not sure how many of us here use them, so I just thought that I'd bring them to the fore for a minute.

**Edit:** a friend just sent me this from his game.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

All right, I stayed unemployed and left my computer running on "Go on Holiday indefinitely" Made it to 2025. Here are the results

Teams in MLS are around the same, Rochester, Tampa Bay Mutiny and the Carolina RailHawks are the only new teams. Last 7 years include 3 titles for Seattle, 3 titles for Los Angeles, 1 title for New York(only three teams to win it, the entire sim) No non-MLS team made the top 3 in the MLS.

The NASL contains the Minnesota Stars, New England and Philadelphia from the MLS, Houston, Toronto and Vancouver bounced from the NASL to the MLS. Quad City struggled in US1/US2 before making it to the NASL. Chicago was relegated the second year, but then won NASL, and remained a top table team in the MLS

The USPRO1 and USPRO2 traded teams for awhile, Fort Lauderdale started in the NASL, were promoted to MLS, then relegated to USPRO1 then promoted back to NASL.

The TLC had only one surprise winner, FC Edmonton in 2019, the Rochester Rhinos made two appearances in the Final two.

The US Cup however, had surprise winners in the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the Minnesota Stars and the Quad City Eagles, and surprise finalists in the Bavarian Soccer Club of Milwaukee(USPRO1 at the time), and Knoxville Force.

MLS winners of the NACL: DC United(2022), and Seattle(2023,2025) Runners up: New England(2014) Los Angeles(2016, 2022), Montreal Impact(2017), Real Salt Lake(2018), and New York(2019, 2023)

The United States is ranked 32nd in the world, Mexico is ranked 11th

World Cups were won by Spain, and Brazil

The US was the runner up in 3 consecutive U17 World Cups

Lionel Messi is currently an unemployed manager

Jozy Altidore is back in the US with Chicago

                  Jurgen Klinsmann retired in 2016

Landon Donovan retired at age 35, playing only for the LA Galaxy

Michael Bradley was the last US mainstay to leave, his final appearance for the States in 2022.

The US, while going down in World Ranking, have a raised world profile, with most of it's best players playing for Real Madrid, Chelsea, United, or Barca. A good number have also stayed in the US with either the Galaxy or the Sounders.

Neymar went to Barcelona in 2015/16 for 44.5M and has scored 20+ goals each season since. Since 2022 however, he's been left off of the Brazil squad.

That's it for now, everything has seemed to work the way I intended it to. I'd like more variety in champions, but that's soccer. Also of note, the values of all the American clubs have gone up.

Over the Christmas break, in my Millwall 2021/22 season, talk about great scheduling. Dec 26th, 27th, and 28th, everyone played in the BPL.

                    3 games 3 days!

We started at home vs West Brom, down 0-1 at half, but rebounded to win 2-1. Up next at home vs Newcastle and we won 2-0. Last but not least on the road vs Man City and we hammered them 3-0.

What a stretch. Raheem Sterling owned Man City! 2 goals and 1 ast with a 9.10 rating.

Getting ready to start the new year and I brought in Coutinho from Juve and Nicolas Diaz from FCP. Diaz is a beast on the wing.

We currently are on a 14 game unbeaten streak and sit in 3rd behind Man U and Arsenal. Only 2 pts separate us and the Gunners have us GD.

Took the Wales National Team Job, my strategy is pretty simple. Give Gareth Bale the ball and everyone get out of the way. It's working so far.

I get so spoiled with my teams, This US stuff is a true challenge, I literally only have one decent striker on the team, and he's just gone down with an injury, I'm now stuck playing with no striker, and in jeopardy of losing my promotion place.

                            Started a career with Newcastle.

8 wins 2 draw in league so far. They have a really good squad with updated roster. Only weakness wa son the wing so I brought Jeremy Menez and Christian Benitez as back-up striker for Cisse.

Ok so here we are nearing the end of the season. 4 matches to go, 6 points out of playoff position.

So I look at my schedule and then almost ripped my computer in half.

4 matches in 8 days to end the regular season, while needing to gain points on everybody...Oh yea and the last three are on the road.

I was totally going to cheat and load the game if i lost...but I haven't lost yet. I dont get it. We're playing fantastic football right now. Also, I kind of figured out that with the players i have, I start in either a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-4 (with 2 wingers) and then if im winning after the hour mark I fall back into a 4-1-4-1 which the game calls a 4-5-1 but whatever... squeeze the air out of the ball. Anyways it's worked, even with my rotated squad!

Don't do the restart after you lose "strategy." It feels much better get promoted in a legit way than just doing that stuff.

I have 2 players that almost reached their 5* potential, both are 4.5* in ability and potential.
