I'm to the point where I want to start a few new saves, but specifically starting in the 17/18 season, and FM18 doesn't come out until November.
Yes, sortitoutsi has you covered here:
    https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-start-date

They have real results from last season and you can start on may 30th of 2017.

Then you can compliment that with this:
    https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update

Which adds updated transfers/loans and manager movements. Just make sure not to use the promotion/relegation file for it as it will conflict with the new starting date above.

Tried using this a few weeks ago and it would put me closer to the beginning of May, not near the end, so there were still games to be played. I'll give it another go, though.

FYI it won't do playoff games. So you might now actually have correct teams going up/down.

But if you download it with the furthest forward date that should be correct minus the last couple playoff games. Also make sure you don't have more than one start date file in the folder, that will mess it all up.

Fantastic—thank you! This should keep me busy until November.

I just did the same thing myself a few days ago. I got bored with my long term save, got stagnant. Currently in Spain with Oviedo.

Got it working! The only bummer is that cup competition winners don't seem to be correct, but oh well.

Weird, since qualifying for European Competition in 2019/20 our home record has been interesting...

Home record in European Competitions -
                vs NSI W 5-0
                vs Aberdeen W 3-0
                vs Club Brugge W 3-0
                vs Feyenoord L 0-1
                vs Stoke D 1-1
                vs Galatasaray D 1-1
                vs Sparta Praha W 3-0
                vs Napoli L 0-1
                vs TNS W 2-0
                vs Basel W 4-0
                vs Ludogorets W 5-0
                vs Real Madrid L 0-3
                vs Liverpool W 1-0
                vs SLB W 3-2
                vs Partizan D 0-0
                vs Tottenham W 1-0
                vs RB Leipzig W 3-1
                vs Lazio W 2-1
                vs Ferencvaros W 3-1
                vs Dinamo D 1-1
                vs Monaco W 2-1
                vs Atletico W 2-1
                vs Man City W 1-0
                vs Chelsea L 0-2
                vs Chelsea L 2-3
                vs Celtic W 3-1
                vs Zenit W 2-1
                vs Besiktas W 2-1
                vs Valencia L 0-1
                vs Celtic W 1-0
                vs Shakhtar W 2-1
                vs Roma W 4-2
                vs RB Leipzig D 1-1
                vs Atletico D 2-2

So we're 21-6-6 at home in European competitions so far scoring 65 goals and allowing 30.

Our away record isn't so good, but this probably the best I've performed in Europe with a single team.

Man, I took a LONG time off from FM, but got stuck back in with my save bringing my created team South Coast up from Vanarama South. In my 1st year in League 2 I got absolutely smoked. Made a last 2 months switch to a more attacking style of play (which seemed counter intuitive but I was down to try anything), and we actually went on a run of form with a bunch of draws and a few wins. Rarely lost. I was able to pull myself out of the relegation zone and finish 20th.

Just finished the offseason after, signed a new GK, a rotational Full Back and CB, a young striker to groom and be my backup, and a good looking Winger to rotate throughout the pitch. My board is also building a new stadium for me!

Super excited to get started on it, but sadly I'm at work now lol.

Three games into the first season in La Liga with Oviedo and I bring the club two record defeats.

Also what a crappy schedule to start the season. The three power houses of the division all up front.

So I've finished my 1st season at Arsenal. Finished 3rd in the league behind United and City, and ahead of Spurs (LOL).

I have Morata coming in, but I've got multiple issues with the squad. Coquelin wants out, and Bellerin wants to go to Barcelona.

Cazorla is leaving at the end of the season, and so is The BFG most likely. I want The BFG to stay as a coach but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

                          Amiens SC - Ligue 1 - 2024/25 Season

Last season was a great success, securing the club's first trophy since 1978 (Division 3 champions) when we won automatic promotion into Ligue 1 by winning Ligue 2. That's how you do it in year two of your head coaching tenure and in year two of our new stadium. It came as a shock though. The fake media had picked us to finish in the mid-table, yet from the end of December on, we led the league.

Now, we got some decisions to make. I'm spending more on payroll than the board wants me to. They didn't give me too much money for additions. I've been shedding high paying contracts to the vets of this squad that has been here since this save started (talk about club loyalty), but it's not been enough.

                          Major Transfers Out
CM Daniel Trevino - Bordeaux ($8M - $11.75M futures) - This is what we call good transfer business. My first signing when I took over at Amiens. I plucked the then 19-year-old American regen, touted as the next Michael Bradley, from the Ocean City Nor'easters on a free transfer. In two seasons, he made 77 appearances, scoring nine goals, assisting nine goals, and collected three Player of the Match awards, as well as earning his first two caps for the United States. I hate selling him to a team in the same league as us, but I kind of need the money to reinvest in the squad.

CM Thomas Monconduit - Retired - Had been with the club since 2015, making 200 appearances and scoring six goals. By the time I got here, he was a little long in the tooth and only saw sporadic game time. Hate paying players big wages who are sitting up in the stands watching the game. Glad he just went ahead and retired.

DR Oualid El Hajjam - Released - Had been with the club since 2011, making 341 league appearances and scoring 13 goals. Lost his full-time starting spot last season, but still made 19 starts over the season. Another veteran on high wages who refused to take a pay cut. Ended up going to Serbia to play with Cukaricki.

                          Major Transfers In
ST Mohamed Sylla - Auxerre ($2.1M - $2.6M future) - Scored 45 goals in two seasons with Auxerre in Ligue 2 after joining from Red Star. 2022/23 season was the breakout season for Sylla. He was the leading goal scorer in Ligue 2, runner up in Player of the Year that season ( the award was won by Francisco Lo Celso, who I sold after that season for $1.9M and $2.6M in futures to Estoril in Portugal, where he went on to flop so hard that they released him after one season) and won the Ligue 2 Revelation Award. 2023/24 was a down season by his standards but still scored 20 across all competitions. We'll see how he handles the step up in competition.

GK Mouez Hassen - Nancy (Free) - backup keeper for Nancy who made 26 appearances for the club over four seasons. I always like to have experience at the keeper position, and the 30-year-old should give that to me. Callum Rodriguez (signed on a free after New York City FC released him) did well for us down in Ligue 2, but Ligue 1 may be too much for the young American.

DC Fred Lumanza - Montpellier (Loan) - youth player who broke into Montpellier's first team last season as they were relegated from Ligue 1. Feel like he can be a great asset as a central defender, though his aerial ability leaves some desire.

CM Andreas Ochner - Roma (Loan) - Roma youth who is getting his first taste of football outside of Italy. Scored eight goals and registered five assists for Atalanta in Serie B last season. Think he instantly becomes one of our better players.

CM Leonidas - Flamengo (Loan) - Keeping that Brazilian pipeline open, Leonidas was on loan in Ligue 1 last season, making 14 appearances for Lens. Though he primarily plays as a central midfielder, he can also play as a right back.

CM Pranjay Kumar - Atlanta United Academy (Free) - It's good to be at a club where I can take advantage of my American contacts (Hollviken wouldn't allow me to sign non-EU players). I found me another midfielder who is touted as the next Michael Bradley. I may have found my replacement for Daniel Trevino.

ST Corentin Chauvin - Niort ($1.8M - $2.2M future) - If he can handle the step up in competition, oh baby. This guy is only 22 and already holds Niort's club record for goal scoring (52). League 2 player of the year last season, scoring 21 goals (second in the league) and registering 13 assists (first in the league). The guy is a poacher, and he should thrive in my system.

CM Arijan Ademi - Maccabi Tel-Aviv ($145k - $195k future) - I've always felt you need a balance of youth and experience. At 34-years-old, the former Dinamo man brings us that experience. He made 67 appearances for Maccabi Tel-Aviv over three seasons, scoring six goals and registering 17 assists. Purely a depth signing as I run with three central midfielders, but he still has some juice left in those legs.

DL Jose Laine - Caen ($550k - $750k future) - He struggled for Caen, but I like his potential, and I love his work rate. I think he can develop into our future at left back.

                          Speaking of FC Hollviken
I have only been gone for two seasons, and they already got themselves relegated to Division 3 in Sweden. Looks like all the players you came to know and love left in droves after I left. We'll see how long it takes them to come back up.

                          Coupe de la Ligue
                          Bye to Third Round
Third Round: Defeated Toulouse 5-4 on penalties after 0-0 draw.
                          Fourth Round: Defeated Tours 3-2
                          Quarter Final: Defeated Troyes 3-2
Semi Final: Loss to PSG 1-5

Maybe I could've gone more defensive against PSG, but then I didn't change up my tactics against them the first time I ever played them in cup competition and nearly upset them last season. Still, it was a good tournament for us.

                          Couple de France
                          Bye to Ninth Round
                          Ninth Round: Defeated Laval 2-1
                          Tenth Round: Defeated Marseille 2-0
                          Eleventh Round: Defeated Bordeaux 2-0
Quarter Final: Loss to Lyon 4-7 in extra time

The loss to Lyon really ticked me off. We were clinging to a 4-3 lead while being a man down when my goalkeeper got injured late, and we were out of subs. Lyon forced extra time with a goal in the 81st minute, then knocked in three more in extra time.

                          Ligue 1

We were favorites for relegation. Sure, we were by far not the most talented team. But I feel like the players I do have fit perfectly with my system.

                          @ Bordeaux 2-1 (Durand, Ochner)
                          Troyes 5-1 (Chauvin [5])
                          @ Bastia 2-1 (Chauvin [2])
Lille 5-0 (Diabate, Chauvin [3], Ochner)

That's how we started the season. We announced that we were not going to be pushovers. Chauvin disappeared in our first game and I ripped him in the media. The next three matches, he scored ten goals. He's going to look like a good piece of transfer business.

First match against PSG....a 3-3 draw. Then we finally lost our first game to Nice. We won the final five games heading into the winter break. Heading into the winter break...we led PSG by two points.

                          Holy ****.

Obviously, PSG's quality shown down the stretch (only dropped 7 points over the second half) as injuries began to thin our squad (while their second team is probably good enough to finish second in this league). We found ourselves in a three way battle with Lyon and Monaco for the final two Champion's League places. Monaco had a rough stretch of play in January, losing five of six league games. But the club that broke PSG's hold on the league for three seasons from 2017-2019 won five in a row to get themselves back in the conversation. Lyon had a rough start to the season, but once the calendar turned over to December, their form has rivaled PSG's.

On the penultimate matchday, Monaco lost 1-3 to Bordeaux combined with us drawing 5-5 with Rennes ended Monaco's Champions League hopes.

That's right, Amiens SC, in only their third Ligue 1 season in club history, will be playing in the UEFA Champion's Leauge.

I promised him more 1st team action and I guess it wasn't enough for him.

I guess FFP in regards to wage rises is a thing too.

We should be moving to our new stadium on 5 October, so this, should everything go according to plan, will be the final game played at the old Energi Viborg Arena. Featuring a 16-year old making his 3rd appearance, and netting a hat trick, and a 19-year old playing out of position due to injury scoring the winner in the 90th. Not sure we could've drawn this up any better.

And it is in-fact, official. Goodbye to Energi Viborg Arena!
