They have real results from last season and you can start on may 30th of 2017.

Then you can compliment that with this:
    https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update

Which adds updated transfers/loans and manager movements. Just make sure not to use the promotion/relegation file for it as it will conflict with the new starting date above.
Which one is the promotion/relegation file? I can't quite figure that out.

If you installed them both, when you start a new game, click on database in the top right. When the drop down opens, uncheck the one that says "Promotions and relegations ny".

I got it figured out. I didn't see a promotion/relegation file but there was another one that mad sense.

        Thanks.

Yeah, I believe it's called "club changes"—took me a few tries to figure out everything. Even with the custom start date the promotions may not be correct due to playoffs, so in my current save Fulham are in the PL instead of Huddersfield. Still, fun to start playing this season in anticipation of FM18.

I always get a good laugh when the board requests a meeting to improve the club. And that meeting is to increasing the transfer budget. Like I'm going to say no to that. And it gets better when they are always "delighted" when you agree to spend the money they want you to.

Its December 3rd, and my main striker has done this already.

Oh yeah I got fired from Oviedo, and Celtic hired me.
His 17 goals in the CL seems crazy impressive, but you have to remember most of that is early qualifying rounds against really bad small clubs. But still. 17 CL (5 group stage goals) and 13 league goals already.

                  So of course this happens...

...right before the last group stage game against Napoli, away. Where we have to win just to get third and go down to the EL. Thanks FM.

I won the home leg 2-1. Felt confident going into the away tie and didn't switch to my usual away tactic. I wanted to take the game to Juventus.

                    Forgot I was Viborg.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Just wrapped up my 3rd season at AFC Tubize in Belgium (6th season overall in my Journeyman career). I've taken the club and really kind of stabilized things, I feel. Finished 12th my first year, 11th my 2nd year, and this year a very solid 8th.

It started out horribly, started out on a 5 game losing streak. I featured 3 players from my youth academy in my starting XI, so there were plenty of growing pains. But they really hit the ground running, and it's been really fun to see them progress.

Here's some of my top performers from the year, sorted by average rating. Nice to see my 3 Academy players all under 20 years old and consistently getting 7+ ratings.

I had to renew Van Hout's contract this year, and his agent wanted a release clause. I would not give it to them, and I ended up having to pony up some more salary up front, but now I have him locked down for 4 years, and he's already valued at $2.3m

I'm starting to get interview offers from various leagues, mostly 2nd division leagues in France and Italy, but I've also had a couple floundering first division teams in the Netherlands and Portugal. My reputation is rising though, so it's nice to see tangible evidence of that, with these clubs actively seeking me out.

I am starting to get somewhat attached to Tubize, especially with this class of youngsters coming up. I've decided that I want to stay and try get Tubize into Europe. I feel like that will raise my prestige enough to potentially get at least a solid mid-table job in one of the top leagues.

The biggest team I've ever managed in FM is Spurs, so my goal here is to make it to one of the "mega" clubs around the world. Thinking like Real Madrid, Barca, Juve, Bayern, or PSG. Would be pretty crazy to make it there after starting in the Belarusian 2nd division.

This was a nice surprise in the Jan window. He was sold before I took over. Nice to see the CPU making aggressive moves like this with itself.

After 3 years at UCD where I finished 3rd, 4th and 8th, I've moved on and took over AS Trenčín in Slovakia.

As my eighth year at my beloved Viborg FF comes to a close, the club and I have made some difficult decision regarding the future of the club. Some of the players who helped establish Viborg in the Superliga and then take them to the next level by performing in the Europa League and Champions League are now set to leave the club at season's end.

When I took over Viborg FF on the 26th of May in 2017, the club had already confirmed relegation from the Superliga, and were looking to quickly rebuild the club into a team that could finally stop the yo-yo from the top flight to the first division.

A true changing of the guard is happening, and it's both thrilling to see so many people come from my youth academy, and a little heart-wrenching to see so many club stalwarts leave.

The bittersweet, but fitting ending to an era.

EDIT: whoa wait a minute, I end the season, then this happens?!

                              EDIT2: Nice.
