What a turnaround. I shored up the defense, and brought in Reiss Nelson to help the attack, and we did, we actually did it. From 24th on Matchday 12, to 2nd on Matchday 46.

Since I started bringing in my own players and started re-shaping the squad to fit how I wanted to play, we conceded just 15 goals.

Going into the final match, I was fairly certain we would beat Bolton, but a draw puts in the playoff almost assuredly, after rotating the whole squad for the Barnsley match, and playing a weakened squad against Cardiff, I had some regrets if it had come down to those dropped points.

My favorite part of this season though....

I cannot figure out how to raise that. It must only raise after you've been there for years or something. I think I got it slightly into the green once so far through April, even though we've made it to both the FA Cup and Europa League final and set my reputation and badges as really high.

I'm not sure what I've done, but in my save in Ireland (Cork City), the support for me has been very high since month 1. Even when we went on a 7 game winless streak, they supported me.

As best I can tell, I didn't cause much roster turnover and the team leaders liked me. That trickled down, and now I have great locker room support.

I was nearly full red until I secured promotion. If anything I wish I got more information such as "The squad is generally upset with the defensive brand of football you've incorporated" then I'd at least understand why they weren't the happiest with me. My overall performance as a manager should be nothing short of stellar though.

Also, in the summer window, re-shaping the squad again and support for me has increased.

Looking for opinions, should I get the game? I currently have FM16, just wondering if it would be worth an upgrade to 18, or even 17.

It absolutely is. I've finally given up my charade of "I'll take a year off and not buy FM." Each year isn't some earth-shattering improvement that revolutionizes the exciting world of Football Management, but there's so many little things they keep doing that make up for the lack of sweeping changes. While I was excited for a big thing like Dynamics to shake up the way management works(and it very much has) the little things inside of Dynamics are carrying the game so much right now.

An example - going into my first Premier League season I signed Kellyn Acosta as a left back/dm. In older games, you'd have the option to have the Captain introduce him to the squad, instead this year I was able to have Eric Lichaj introduce him, and Acosta went from Poor Morale to Very Good, and was it was easy for me to see that he integrated into the squad very quickly.

Conversely I signed Patrick Banggaard from Darmstadt, and had my captain Chris Cohen introduce him to the squad, and with no one around from that area, he didn't instantly gel with anyone. He's clearing up now that we've started playing friendlies, but it's not as quick as Acosta was.

Yeah, it must favor longevity/managing experience. Just like you, I have high rep and badges. This is me after winning the CL, only a small amount of green and trending down for some reason:

Happiness, morale, locker room atmosphere, and match cohesion are quite high, though.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Finished 5th first season with Liverpool. But we can get into the Champions League with a win over Atalanta in the Europa League final. Also in the FA Cup final vs. Watford.

But more importantly, imagine the scenes if this happened in real life...

The title came down to the Manchester Derby on the final day. Match played at Old Trafford, City came in 1 point ahead needing a draw for the title. United must win to win the title.

Chelsea and Arsenal also played on the final day, and Chelsea would've had to score a ton in a win to catch City. They played to a 0-0 draw.

That would be talked about for decades.

Bobby!!!!!! Mignolet with the big early penalty save too.

Into the Champions League we go.

                      Europe results:

Did the double. Salvaged what was a disappointing league season and probably saved my job in the process.

FA Cup Results. When FM gives you the breaks you take it and run. Watford beat Man City in the semis...

Disabled transfers in the first window. Business was done in January:

Season 1 in the books. Keita is coming in, and I think I'm gonna go after Donnarumma in the summer. Probably gonna go after a destroyer DM too.

I finalized my squad, lost my captain for 5 months the day before his testimonial. We crushed Stoke with clinical finishing, and Reiss Nelson netted a hattrick, it's 3am, and I keep thinking about what I can do to handle a premier league attack.

Morale of this story, remember I was less than enthused during the beta, now I'm laying in bed thinking about defensive formations and shopping for a cheap laptop so I can play at work without installing it on a work computer.

                            Yeah, that'll work.

Would've been perfect, but we blew a 3-0 lead over Barca at home in Match Day 2. Beat them 3-1 at Camp Nou on the final day to win the group.

Soooo after reading this forum I have decided to cave in and get 18. Setting everything up now.

Edit: Had to delete and re-install. For some reason it wasn’t showing the Greek League as available. Might have something to do with the editor data files.
