Unless Arsene knows that Nasri is going to resign, this is a mistake. As pointed out so perfectly on the Arseblog today, selling him to someone like City and sitting on the £20 million sends the wrong sign, so does keeping him and letting him go on a free. Selling him and then buying someone to replace him, such as Mata, shows you know how to do business.
This season is of course bigger than the last, as say we keep them both. If we don't win something, not only will Nasri be leaving and most likely Cesc, but RVP will also be in line to get out of the sinking ship.
I started watching the season review last night and it's incredible to see how many things we do without winning a trophy. Best away record in the premier league, for example. The others escape me for now, but the number of stats that we're best in is astonishing when compared to the fact we didn't win anything.Last edited by Krebstar; 07-12-2011, 10:19 AM.Comment

No, but I can speculate if Arsene is interested that means he's technically gifted, small and has several years before he should be seeing first team action. United and Chelsea are also interested. Only way it could get better is if Barca are interested as well and we still get him.
Apparently it's going to take £3 million to get him, though. Not sure if we'll drop that much.Comment

Wenger is in a damned if he do damned if he don't situation with Nasri. I really think Arsene thinks he can get him to sign a deal, he is taking a very big risk if he keeps Nasri, but I like move. Nasri is going to be a world class player, so you need to try to do everything you can to keep him.

Gibbs starting at LB all season, I know he's an up and coming English international but I just don't see it going well. I'm not OK with it for the simple fact that he is young and injury prone. But at the same time so was Clichy and Cole when they were inserted in starting XI. Hopefully strikes lightning a third time.
I think Gibbs absolutely has the talent to be able to do the job. But if he gets hurt then you have Traore who plays absolutely no defense which will be suicide on the left side where you have guys that rarely track back. TV5 is also and option but I don't think you take that guy out of the center. Also don't know if he is fast enough to be able to recover and you have to have fullbacks that can get up and attack in todays game. I think Samba would be a good fit for you guys. I really like him, a big, strong defender and can play up front when needed. I'd like us to sign him if I'm honest. He would be a much cheaper option than Cahill who is way overpriced as are all Englishmen.Comment
