Humor, as it were, based on 4 and 7, that predictably passed over your head.

As I said, I've just skimmed your post. Just because you're writing a wall of text to prove your smallmindedness doesn't mean I'm going to read it.Comment

Come on guys. ZTH, don't call people pathetic and smallminded. You've both made your points and now it's just devolving into sniping at each other. Let's move on.Comment

Normally I wouldn't, Tim. But when people resort to straw men, which I pointed out exactly where, then I think it's a fair assessment.
I've stated my opinions quite clearly and he's allowed to his. Why he's thinking this is some vendetta is really not something I spend a lot of calories on, easily seen by my one-liner comments to his lengthy efforts.
Not to mention his time consuming faux research to disprove my statement that local players is indeed something fans care about.Last edited by ZeroTheHero; 01-21-2018, 03:09 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Anyway, for people who actually want discussion: Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the potential of Aubamayeng is exciting, but I don't think our season can be saved without better defenders, and signing a proper holding midfielder to shield our centrebacks. As Brahv said(maybe in the transfer thread) N'Zonzi makes too much sense, so there's a 0% chance of that happening.
I don't actually expect any more signings in this window(Auba, or otherwise) but it'd be nice to at least threaten a challenge of the top 4.Support Local Sports

The question is what would you consider a saved season? Fourth place?
I do think fourth is going to be very hard to achieve at this point, but we are the type of side that could go in a cup run. Do I think we we’ll win the Europa League? Not at this moment, but we’re capable of it.
Higher league position is tough as that means us being consistent.Comment

I just don't see us getting through that tournament, though. We're bound to run into a better side and see it end there. As for the league, I still don't see how we don't finish in fourth based on the reasons you said before. We still have issues in midfield and defense, regardless of if we improve our attack.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Just saw this in a tweet by a journalist who covers the club:
I was at Colney when Wenger made a jibe at new chief scout Sven Mislintat saying he could help Arsenal sign a player from Germany's third division.
I hope the negotiations in Dortmund continue to press forward and we hear some positive news this week.Comment

I would go as far as considering a European cup a successful season, regardless if it's only the Europa League. First, it's a European trophy—second, it qualifies us for the CL.

Strong team against Chelsea, hopefully more exciting than a bore draw today thoughSupport Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
defensively Iwobi is dropping all the way back into a fairly deep left back position with Monreal sitting narrower and forming a five at the back with Elneny in front of them linking the defending with the midfield. I like the idea behind this, but it's also become very clear that Iwobi isn't the most responsible defensively, a sequence played out where it seemed like Iwobi was confused on who was supposed to be marking Moses. I wouldn't be surprised to see a goal get assisted from Moses later in the game.
Offensively we are missing nearly everyone who is making runs. Laca's been offside, but we've missed well-time runs from Wilshere and Bellerin in the first half so far, the one person we hit on a nice run was Kos! As I type this it looks like Christiansen should've gotten another yellow on that poor challenge on Ozil, but we still seem to lack any real structure offensively.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Today Wenger made it sound as though Cazorla would most likely not play again in this season. His status is still up in the air.
I'm still so very sad that this has happened to him, if not for the quality of his play, but for the quality of human being he is.Support Local Sports
