Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***

    Let's continue, shall we?

What the hell was with the bench selection as well? I understand getting some youth in the line-up for a game against a weaker opponent, but why was no-one impactful on the bench? We're down, we get to bring Lacazette on against Forest, and our chance look a hell of a lot better than they do with Eddie Nketiah. I love Eddie, but we should be focused on winning this game, not giving him and Akpom game time. Look at Spurs, they played ****ing AFC WIMBELDON AND STARTED HARRY KANE WITH CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN AND DELE ALLI ON THE ****ING BENCH. Manchester City played Burnley and fielded what amounted to a full-strength side. Chelsea played Norwich and while not fielding their exact first selection at every position, didn't exactly go as youth-oriented as Arsenal. Manchester United played Derby fielding Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan amongst others. Why are we the only top 6 team(no, I didn't forget Liverpool, but they fielded basically a full-strength side against Everton, as expected) that played with our youth AND reserves on display?

Our team selection was awful(so awful, the team's social media accounts got the formation wrong), our tactics were awful, our play was awful. Regardless of the fact that no one should have any expectations for this team due to many factors, this is still embarrassing that we get beat by a managerless Championship team

I really was shocked at this team selection. Some players simply need to go. Or the manager if this is what you're going to get out of them. Prime example, you're down 3-2 late pushing for a goal. Cross comes in towards Welbeck and Theo Walcott just stands there instead of making the back post run. Would've been a tap in equalizer. Then about 2 mins later, he stands there waiting for a pass from the defense instead of making sure he was on the end of it. Allows a Forest player to get in front of him and it leads to the penalty.

These are the kind of things you saw at Liverpool towards the end with Rodgers.

Best thing we can do now is lose.

          Lose absolutely everything. Badly.

Ya know, I have this weird feeling that Alexis isn't going to sign a new contract with Arsenal.

So, Coquelin might be on his way to Valencia. If only we had cut dead weight from the squad a few years ago.

Wouldn't Coquelin be fine to keep if he was just a backup to a real DM? Are his wages really that high? Isn't he like the only actual DM in the squad?

Mustafi is going to be knackered having to cover BOTH of Holding & Chambers inevitable mistakes.

I reckon Ospina will be gathering the ball from the back of the net at least 3 times tonight, if not 7.

                            Genuinely forgot he existed.

I'm not sure he even counts, he's not much of a DM and he's also pretty bad. He's as much of a DM as Xhaka.

There have been many grumblings that he's a shining example of Arsene not trusting or wanting to work with things outside of his control. Elneny was one of the players recommended by the data analysis company the club purchased, and it has always seemed that Arsene either just doesn't trust him or doesn't want to use him.

Mustafi was also apparently a recommendation in the same way, which is why Arsene may have been happy to sell him this past Summer.

In a nutshell, things are bonkers behind the scenes.

Well done. It didn't go as I had hoped, but not everything can, wishing Coquelin nothing but the best in Valencia, where I'm sure with some real direction he'll fulfill that potential I know some of us saw flashes of.
