Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
It's Wenger, so you'll play one at a time and make both of them kinda mad.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Why not play them both up top, with no wingers?
Some variation of a 4-4-2, or 3-5-2?

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
I think the only way to fit all those players together that doesn't end in tragedy would be a variant of City's old 4-2-2-2.
Something like:
Cech's replacement
Whichever back 4 isn't currently attending clown college
2 DMs, OR 1 really good DM and Wilshere
Mhki - Ozil
Laca - Auba
Biggest problem you guys would have, is none of your fullbacks are good enough to be offensive wide threats while simultaneously providing adequate defensive cover and support.
Imo, any other formation will put one of those attackers in a bad spot.Comment

It'd be nice if players actually developed. Bellerin learning to defend consistently would be a rebelationSupport Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
I know some may disagree, but I think it's fairly clear that everyone we brought in during January were not direct calls from Arsene. I'm sure he gave a nod of approval, but it seems like Lacazette may have been the last instance of Arsene saying I want that player, we should sign him.
The hierarchy is changing, and in the case of Gazidis, it's flexing its muscles. I will not be surprised if Arsene does not use the new weapons at his disposal as quickly or as often as he should while citing them needing time to adjust, learn the English game, and on and on. We're seeing a glimpse of a transition from what was essentially an emperor, and I don't expect the emperor to go along with every new change.
Will he use them? Yes. Will I be surprised if he doesn't use them quickly, often, or effectively (Auba on the wing)? No, I will not be.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Goals weren’t the problem though. The defense has been ****e for a while. We’ve been saying in this thread since I was in college (coming up on 4 years graduated) that the problem has been CB and CDM. Yet again we’ve failed to address said problem.

Say what you want but Arsenal players look much happier and playing Wenger’s football beautifully since the Sanchez saga is over.
