If true, I have a feeling he'll be here permanently next year.

Well, we don't call him a maverick for nothing. What a fool.

There were already grumblings about Arsene looking for defensive cover, and in the preseason he primarily used Santos out on the left wing.

I was hoping he would be cheaper to buy next year Real Madrid got him for 10m euros last year but still not a bad price for him; but, depending on how good he is for Arsenal like you said he could be there permanent. Hopefully he doesn't falter like Julio Baptista did when Arsenal got him on loan that year, however he was good in the League Cup though.

I watched Nuri a lot when he was at Dortmund and I think he will fit in perfectly in Wenger's system. Like Kreb said, while he was a little over his head at a club like Madrid, he will be really good for Arsenal.

Each day there is a new reason to love Arseblog.

"The Sun, meanwhile, goes full on with reports of 130 mph chase in his 'super-car' and says he could be jailed 'for up to 2 years' if found guilty. It's obvious to me that after so many reports of Alex Song's tardiness, Santos couldn't face the prospect of being late and routinely sold to Barcelona as a consequence."

Looks like the Sahin deal might not happen for Arsenal or well at least it is stalling because apparently Sahin doesn't want to burn bridges with Madrid if he goes to Arsenal with the potential to be sold.

We better be working on an alternate deal.

Looks like we'll be going right up until the deadline, again.

The reason he hasn't signed with you yet is because he's meeting with Liverpool.

I wish the bastard would just make up his mind already.

Brendan Rodgers is confident a deal will be made tomorrow. The BBC seem to think that Arsenal have conceded and have ended their interest.

If he's worried about just wanting to return to Madrid next season, then I don't care where he goes.

I'd be excited if he signed with us for a loan, and actually liked the idea of staying with us.

I did to, as I know you have seen what the guy was capable of doing during his time at Dortmund. However, I get tired of Arsenal selling before buying replacements. They did fine RVP but I wish the M'Vila thing would have went through, Arsenal could of had this out of the way in the beginning of the transfer window.

Yup, it sounds like he has absolutely no interest in staying anywhere longer than a year. So Liverpool can have him.

Just curious, would any of you guys like to see Benayoun come back? He obviously has no future at Stamford Bridge. I read today that he can go for something like £3m. Probably depends on what wages he is on too I guess.

Honestly, without our injury issues it wouldn't be bad to have him available to play on the wing. I'd gladly take him.

Also, what the hell is going on with Theo? There has still not been any announcement of a contract extension, we never let anyone go for free.

No idea what's happening with Theo, but at least it's nice to know they're negotiating in private and Theo isn't releasing statements on his website.

I agree that his has been a problem in previous years, but we did sign before selling, and we were all praising Arsenal for getting things done quickly with Giroud and Podolski. I think Wenger thought he could keep RVP and never thought Song would want to be sold.

But Wenger absolutely has to make another signing, preferably two more. We can't let Song go without replacing him, and I'd still like to see another defender come in.
