Abysmal defending, and a better effort could've made it so there wasn't even a shot on goal.

Damn Jenko was awful today for West Ham. Got beat like a mule on the 3rd goal and got sent off and gave up a penalty on the 4th goal. Ouch. And it's even more inexcusable that we couldn't even score a goal against those guys.

This is exactly why I thought we had no real shot at the title. Instead of strengthening the side, we've dicked around again in the window and look like we don't know how to retain possession, make a decent pass, make runs off the ball etc. We are flat awful right now. Awful. That first half display was flat embarrassing and we deserved nothing from the match. And of course we won't strengthen the side because we don't wanna spend "too much". Hello fourth place again. We'll go out and win a cup, finish in the top 4 and everybody will be satisfied. I'm just tired of being lied to by Arsene and the board that we are serious about winning the league and don't do the little things necessary to pull it off.

He definitely showed that he has some work to do before he's a first choice for us.

The issue isn't that we're showing issues this early, it's that we're showing the same issues. It's not like we've fixed some things and realized that maybe we need to strengthen in other areas—instead we have the same issues that we've always had.

When you look at it that way, there's plenty of reason to already "melt down" and be fed up.

The problem was the lackluster loss vs. West Ham. If we win that game than it's 7 points from 9, and a draw against a Liverpool side that has yet to concede doesn't look that bad.

It's too early to panic or melt down, but this team should absolutely not only have 4 points so far.

Excuse my rant, but after watching that crap today i'm beyond pissed because it's the same song, different verse. We couldn't retain possession in the middle of the park because why??? Coq is great at breaking up play but can't pass incisively worth a damn. (Don't get me started on letting a tailor made fit in Morgan Schinderlain go to United without a fight) So Rodgers marked Santi all match to decrease his influence. You add in not having the first choice CB pair who pass very well from deep, there was no probing balls coming from deep. Poor Chambers was getting his azz handed to him all match and Arsene just let him suffer. That is how you ruin a player's potential.

It's the same crap at the other end. Everybody just stands around the box looking to pass or waiting for Alexis to do something amazing and nobody except the Ox wants to take the ball and dribble at the opposition. We are too narrow in attack and our number 9 can't stretch backlines to give Ozil and Carzola space to work. And of course the finishing is spotty at best. In our last 6 home fixtures apart from the West Brom game, we haven't scored a damn goal. That is a serious problem.

It's just the same old, same old and if this doesn't get fixed, I can see this side being blown up, sold off and we have to rebuild again. And it will be even more angering than in 2011 because we aren't far off, but we have faith in players that is moving into delusional. And elite players like Ozil and Alexis aren't gonna just sit and settle for FA Cups and League Cups. They want EPL crowns and deep runs in Europe.

Because we dicked around in the window and tried to haggle, now the price for all elite players has gone up because now you look desperate. We refuse to learn any lessons from our past mistakes and that bothers the hell out of me. We are 5 points back and probably out of it the way City are playing and Utd getting results so we will go on a crazy run, Arsene will think he was right and we will do the same crap again. There is absolutely no wiggle room for off days the rest of the way and you backed the squad into the corner at its not even September 1st yet.

If the ref gets the offside call right, we're discussing a 1-0 clean sheet victory over a tough Liverpool squad. Yes, we looked terrible against West Ham, but I don't think it should be all doom and gloom after only 3 matches.

I'm certainly not doom and gloom, but I don't blame those who are already fed up, either.

If we had made more moves in the window already, I'd have higher expectations. But as it stands now, just like last year, I'll be pleased with a top three finish. As sad as that sounds.

It's not the end of the world. I believe we have a good team and can aim for a top 3 as kreb has mentioned.

Even though we drew 0-0 I thought we played well in the 2nd half and Cech showed us why Wenger signed him. Lots of chances were created and Ramsey should have scored. Ozil had another solid game. Alexis is clearly not match fit but once he is I think we will start to improve. I want to like Giroud but his inconsistent finishing is why people clamor for another striker. He can score beautiful volleys one week and then miss chances he should be burying. I'd really like to not buy a striker and focus on midfield but when he's so high and low he leaves Wenger with almost no choice. Walcott is great against a high line team but not as effective against teams that park the bus.

It's why I've never liked when we bring on Theo when we need a goal late, as that means the other team is just sitting back deep.

But if he starts the game, most teams won't be sitting deep to begin with. Some teams will be of course, and will play for a draw, but against the Liverpool's of the league, I think he can do more damage early when the opposition also wants to get forward.

Either Theo or Ox should be starting in the right wing. Don't get how Wenger hasn't figured this out yet.

But who do you bench? Ramsey, Cazorla, or Sanchez to accommodate? Not being a jerk but one of those guys will be on the bench. Ramsey I thought played pretty well on the right last night. Unless you try and make Alexis the striker which hasn't really worked unfortunately someone will be benched. To be frank, Walcott should start as a striker more often and then bring Giroud on as a sub next game.
