It is 100% irrational, but **** will I miss him hitting those 30-40 yard shots. No other player has ever created belief that nearly every shot he took from that distance could go in. Shame more of them didn't.

I don't know that Xhaka will get much time off the bench, as ultimately outside of being more familiar, Ceballos is just better. It's a shame he changed from his Gladbach days, but it's certainly time to put him in the rearview.

I think it’s fair to say the bad outweighs the good with Xhaka. Are there strokes of brilliance? Sure—but that can be said for many players that we wouldn’t necessarily want playing for our club.

I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt (not sure why) all this time, but I’m at the end of my rope with him. Far too many mistakes, far too often for me. He simply isn’t good enough, and needs to be moved on.

I like the idea of a Ceballos, Torreria, Guendouzi midfield. Not sure if it would be defensive enough, but it certainly wouldn’t lack creativity (a la yesterday).

Was listening to 2 Robbies earlier, and Mustoe made a good point that with the front 3 quality we have (which should be starting every game), we don’t NEED mid fielders so far forward or the FB bombing forward as frequently. Completely agree. Hold them back a bit to not be so vulnerable to the counter (again, yesterday).

I very much disagree that the bad outweighs the good with Xhaka. I agree that he shouldn't be starting at the moment, but this current evaluation reeks of simplistic results-based thinking combined with extreme recency bias.

With all the outgoings, in total £900,000-a-week is understood to have been taken off Arsenal's wage bill to bring a saving of close to £50m-per-year. [Standard]

Incredible. Think too, nearly all of that would be considered dead weight. Shocking.

I'm fairly pleased with our dealings over the summer. I wish we hadn't left it late to get a good centreback, but Luiz should be a serviceable player. I don't expect much from him and he'll be gone by 2021, I'd imagine. Outside of that we did pretty much what I had thought/hoped we would do.

              Agreed.

Once Holding is fit, I’m perfectly fine if Luiz is 3rd choice CB (or 4th? Chambers). As was mentioned previously, at least there is some good with the bad, unlike Mustafi (for most part) lol.

Speaking of which, bet he’s so salty he didn’t get moved. I think he’s under contract for at least 2 more years too...?

I'm sure Mustafi is thrilled that he didn't go. I'm sure he loves his wage and seems to truly think he can play his way into the team.

I wouldn't be surprised to know that the reason Mustafi didn't leave is that he didn't want to.

Mustafi has talent, that much is clear. If he works hard on figuring out how to limit his gaffes with a high line I have no issue with him working his tail off to make good here.

I think he goes in January and will do better when forced not to play a high line and at a slightly slower overall pace of play.

There's no way he's still here at the start of next season. Emery seems to have already told him there's no future for him, and I doubt that if we start next year with a different manager they'll want to keep him.

Just to compare the two—when Xhaka makes a mistake, he keeps fighting and attempts to atone. When Mustafi makes a mistake, he doesn't accept fault, he screams and waves his arms, and blames his teammates.

That is true about Xhaka and he should be given credit for that. No one can question his commitment.

I'm pissed we only came away with a point, because we played better and should've scored more. Their goals were direct results of defending errors—we gave them two goals yesterday.

Lastly, if Harry Kane were not English or even British or Irish, he'd be labeled a foreign cheat by the likes of Sean Dyche and the media and would eventually leave the league to avoid his earned reputation.
I'm not "pissed" with the draw because 0-2 up early in a derby hardly ever holds. I'm not happy but at the end of the day with the form Spurs are in and without a healthy RB, a point is still better than last year at the Emirates so that's an improvement.

As for Kane, I think the opposite. If he's not English he wouldn't get this much attention for doing the same thing every other striker does. Kane is nearly to Rooney and Beckham level of attention where everything he does is blown up.

Auba, Salah, Aguero and any other top striker dive/fall easy just as often as Kane. The move on Sokratis is actually really smart. There was nothing Kane could do with the ball in that area so why not cut off the defender (a foul happy defender) and force contact hoping for a call?

Auba did it last year in the NLD at Tottenham and was awarded the penalty.

I'm sure you thought Dele cheated to when he was rugby tackled? 😏
