I don't believe this morning is the first time there have been rumbles about Guendouzi wanting to leave. That's fine—make a profit and move him on. It was reported he feels that he's "regressed under Arteta" and if by regressed he means he doesn't start every single match as he did under Emery, yeah I guess so.

I won't miss him if he goes, especially since we'll move him for a profit after bringing him in for roughly £8m.

I wouldn’t shed a tear if he leaves. Opens up more minutes for AMN (as a midfielder).

It also seems the Saka experiment in midfield is going well so far. He’s played in 3 different positions since the restart.

To me, Saka, Holding, and Martinez were the bright spots yesterday. Every time Saka is on the ball I'm reminded of how badly we need to get his new contract sorted. Holding looked like the player we've all seen before (and the player Arsenal supporters tried to tell others we would miss when he was injured, but nah not even he would help our defense, whatever), and Emi slotted in really well and looked comfortable.

I think Saka is going to be featured a lot. By all accounts he’s incredibly smart and probably has a grasp on what Arteta wants.

Before Holding got hurt, he was probably the best CB at the club in my eyes. I think him and Papa had a decent run of games together and were solid.

Martinez is going to surprise a few people.

My talking points last year in the second half, and into the transfer window:

Xhaka isn't as bad as everyone is making him out to be, but he's being asked to do too much.

Guendouzi needs a loan to develop properly, he isn't/wasn't good enough to be an everyday starter for a team that's supposed to have ambitions like Arsenal, but was good enough to start somewhere.

Mustafi, much maligned like Xhaka, was desperately in need of a partner who could cover for his adventurous mistakes(Sadly they signed Luiz, and lost Kos, which was about as bad a trade you could've made)

Nketiah/Willock/Saka/Nelson/Smith-Rowe/John-Jules/Balogun all should be starting cup games we don't care about(some have, Nketiah and Smith-Rowe went on loan with mixed results)

Club needed to move for a better right back backup or promote Osei-Tutu, and to buy a leftback with Monreal aging out, and AMN clearly just being a better CM than defender(signed Tierney)

Club needed to work with Ozil to reintegrate him in to the team, AND to figure out how to utilize him going forward(whoops)

Club needed to get it's contracts sorted out with players before they were on the verge of expiring(sigh)

Fairly expected rotation, except Tierney and Kola starting, so wingbacks of some kind it seems.

Also surprised to see Saka starting again—hopefully the ankle feels good.

Hoping to see Pepe get involved more. We went down the left so much in the last match.

Tierney, Kola, and Saka all on the left will be interesting. Curious to see how they set up. Possibly a 3-4-3 with AMN and Kola at wingback?

Always nice when VAR overturns what would've otherwise been an obvious offside (not that it was easy to see except on replay).

Still, we're such utter **** at defending set pieces.

Wow, in the 45th minute there was just a wonderful, wonderful move. Wow.

Martinez kicks fairly long, but low, out to the right and it's collected by AMN while sprinting forward. AMN passes up to Willock, who then sprints forward, finds Tierney ahead out wide on the left who immediately cuts it back to Pepe who is running across goal, and the shot goes wide.

That pass from Martinez, and then the pass out to Tierney (low, hard pass that went right by two defenders) were fantastic. Yes, it was one quick sequence, but you can actually see what Arteta is implementing. We have a plan—it's going to take time, but at least there's a clear plan.

Martinez's outlet passing has impressed me the last two games, wasn't expecting it.

Very glad for no extra time—not something we needed right now at all.

That was not pretty, but it's another win and that was the fourth away match in a row—crazy.
