What do the goals against for the rest of the top 6 look like over those years?

W/o looking up Chelsea’s #’s I feel like we’d be around the same #

Chelsea has allowed 50 league goals in those same 43 league games. Last year they allowed twelve fewer goals than Arsenal—this year they've allowed three more.

And here's the entire top six goals allowed over those same 43 league games.

Liverpool: 26
Man City: 29
Spurs: 45
Chelsea: 50
United: 58
Arsenal: 59

A few more just to put Arsenal's struggles into perspective:

Leicester: 52
Everton: 53
Wolves: 56

The next manager must fix the defense first. We have enough individual skill in attack to create chances from very little. We need to completely change our defensive structure and organization and that's just the start.

I have a lot I'd like to say, but I don't want to fall into a reactionary rut where I just sit and take every game at it's face, so we'll look at the next 4 games in conjunction with the Watford game before I start writing paragraphs about things.

That said, I'm already unhappy that Emery has said that Ozil is being rested after playing a whopping 71 minutes all season. Ozil was great during the Watford game, and if Emery is hellbent on freezing him out again, I'm just gonna end up even angrier.

Tierney/Chambers/Holding/Bellerin backline when all fit is what I wanna see.

Guendouzi/Torreira/Ozil midfield needs to be tried.

Saka/Auba/Pepe up front.

Ceballos and Nelson with roles off the bench. Nelson does need to do something because Saka has jumped in front of him in my eyes.

I’m done with Xhaka.


In regards to Sunday, Villa at home should be a comfortable win and I expect nothing less.
