I don't post here often, but why did we stop pushing numbers forward after we went up 2-1. Portugal should've arguably be down 3-1 and we just fell back for no reason. IMO this game was lost in the 15 minutes after we made it 2-1.

^ I agree, controlling the whole game because they're down 1-0 an they have to go for it. Then they equalize and eventually go ahead, instead of controlling the game because they want to, and can, they sit back and let Portugal back into it. It looked like they got nervous.

But they were by far the better team. The man who's really impressed me over two games has been Beckerman

I think perhaps Bradley misses Donovan more than anyone. For a variety of reasons, on and off the pitch.

I figured people might try to bring up Donovan at some point, but this is more ridiculous than I ever imagined. No. Just no.

Cleary ridiculous since 4 of MB's worst games in a USMNT kit have come without Donovan now. Clearly.

Bradley has played well plenty of times in a US shirt without Donovan on the field. One good example recently is the first half of the Mexico friendly. As for off the field, no one has ever accused Donovan of being a locker room or training leader, so that part has no meaning to me. It's grasping at straws to try to explain a guy in bad form.

The soccer gods have spoken, they want JK to beat former team and the USA to finally earn the respect it deserves worldwide. If anybody said we would have 4 points after 2 matches, we would all take it. Chew on this, the last time Germany lost a match I believe was? you guessed it, to USA in DC. Soccer gods? Of course draw is more possible, but imagine if we win? Win the group of death? I believe we will win..... do you?

As far as the match goes, the first goal by portugal should of never happen, garbage cross with garbage clearance. That last goal was at least a world class cross and header, just the time of match it happen hurts. Other than that we out played them, had a lot of chances and better possession. Bradley looked better this match. Duece played well up top alone. Beckerman and Jones been both best overall iMO. I also love JK subs, always make impact in match. The Yedlin/Johnson combo on right side seemed to cause havoc for portugal. This World Cup full of surprises, could USA be next surprise? Win group if death? Their is the possibility, anything is possible.

Come on people. Donovan's absence is not effecting Michael Bradley's ability to pass, dribble, or make the correct decisions. He is in a bad run of form, this is soccer, it happens to every player.

After watching that final cross, multiple times, why didn't Howard come out and grab it or at least punch it away?

he was frozen just like Cameron was. Whether or not he should have came out, out of the 5 defenders in the box, one of them should have picked up the only Portuguese player. but they didn't, which we saw the result. The US did every thing right in ET except the very last play which sadly cost us

Excluding a USA win, this chart shows all other reasonable scenarios for Thursday. Nothing new, but nice to see all at once. I'll definitely have this handy during the matches.

So by that chart Portugal has to win, if not we are screwed and Portugal is terrible. Lovely...
