re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Our midfield depth is ridiculous. Torres, Mix, and Corona all have looked great. Their technical abilities are amazing imo They look like they could be pushing guys like Brad Davis and Sacha Kljestan unless there spots are taken by Wondo and Landon which could happen. Gomez' spot might be in danger as well, would be tough to leave a guy like him off though. Castillo looked much better as more of a wing back in the second half. He's a liability defensively, if he had some size he could be a great left mid.Comment

It's time to say goodbye to Onyewu. He is done as far as the USMNT is concerned.Comment

You'd rather they get some of those mistakes out of the way though against weaker opponents. They learned to be tighter on set pieces vs Belize, to be wary of counter attacks against Cuba. Should help them going forward.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
I didn't think the performance in the first half was all that bad. Brek had a rough time out there, but it's not like Cuba was carrying play. They just hit us on a counter and scored because Gooch decided to ball watch instead of mark the only Cuban player that was within 20 yards of the play.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Maybe, but he should have cut the run off, he just doesn't have the first step speed needed to play at national level. Later on in the match he got beat and was lucky to not concede a penalty. There are too many better options at this point. Maybe if he wises up and gets himself on a club (specifically a MLS club) where he plays every day, he'll get himself into form to get another call up. Sadly, it's probably too late. That move to AC Milan was the first in a series of puzzling decisions for him.Comment

I'm still shocked that on that tackle in the box (which was a great tackle that I initially thought was a PK) he didn't shred his knee up again. It bent back and looked pretty bad.
I'm not that impressed with Torres. I feel like he has the skill set but his decision making and consistency let him down too often. There were times last game where LD looked at him crazily after his crosses were launched into the stands.Comment
