re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Yes, the competition is not terribly intimidating...but Donovan looks great.
The team looks great, in general, and the confidence will be a big boost.
If Altidore and Dempsey will show up in good form, and Donovan continues to play with this energy and passion, you gotta be happy about how things are looking.Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
It's always funny seeing the reactions of a certain set of USMNT fans to their matches. Kill an inferior team - "Eh, it was just (insert CONCACAF opponent)". Struggle against an inferior team - "Should do better against (insert CONCACAF opponent)". Lose to anyone in CONCACAF outside Mexico - "Should never lose against (insert CONCACAF opponent)". Beat Germany - "Eh, it was just their B team". Lose to Belgium - "See? The US will never compete with European teams."
Can never enjoy the team apparently. And no, I'm not picking on you, Payton2Kemp. It's something that I've always noticed (especially once you get on Twitter) and have probably been guilty of it in some areas too.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
The confidence the team is showing and attack, attack, attack mentality Klins has implemented is outstanding!! How could anyone complain that we are brushing lower tier teams aside as is expected?? And we do not even have all our 1st team on hand. To see Donovan with new energy and consistent skill is a huge plus, I was worried that it just might be a miserable fail for him. We are scoring goals, and scoring goals consistently lately, even if in a 1-0 win as well, the fact is a lot of players are taking part, and having numerous players on the pitch that can score at anytime is outstanding and a huge headache for defense. Final score 5-1 yesterday, that could of easily been 8+ goals for USA if not for their goalie making some good reactions. Think to last Gold Cup against Mexico where we were embarrassed in final, should be a different picture this time, if we keep this form going. I am one excited for where USA soccer is at with Klins, and where it could go through next years world cup if we keep this up. You might score or not? but you better score more than us, because we are not stopping till final whistle. Think about all the times in past where we would get a goal or two early, only to give it up in 2nd half because we only played 45min. Or the many times we went down early and could not score a goal to save our lives, no one stepping up. Now, with this new attitude and style of play, we should always be in every game, against every opponent, if not already leading. Here is to progression and improvements made last 2 years, see below for yourself:
2013 Record: Win against Germany, Tie against Mexico(at azteca), 9 match win streak.
10W - 2L - 2T
15 different goal scorers
35 total goals year to date - still at least 6 minimum matches left - 7 even if we make gold cup final
2012 Record: Wins against Italy and Mexico(in azteca), tie against Russia.
9W - 3T - 2L
11 different goal scorers
23 total goals all year
2011 Record: ugggh, not back to this, please!!!!
6W - 3T - 8L
10 different goal scorers
16 total goals all year
Cheers to USA soccer!! This is the progression I like to see, and hopefully gets even better leading up to World Cup!!

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
The style of play is what is most attractive. We barely got by teams like Guadeloupe in the previous Gold Cup. Bunker Bob Bradley did a great job of grinding out results, but the games weren't really attractive at all. Klinsmann has shown we can both play an attacking/possession style of football(Germany, Panama, Honduras, Gold Cup) and grind out results when we need to(Snow Clasico and draw against Mexico, also late goal against Jamaica).
Going back onto views of USMNT from both fans and outsiders. Quite honestly, whatever we do, I doubt it will ever be enough until we win a World Cup. We beat Mexico in 2002 knockout round, played our asses off against Germany. Mexico fans will mention Gold Cups despite us knocking them out and Eurosnobs will say we got lucky getting out of our group. 2010, won our group with England and should of won it handily if it weren't the horrible call in Slovenia game. There will still be a share of Englishmen bashing us for being "****e" or calling it soccer or whatever. We could honestly get to the semi finals in the World Cup and the excuse for us making it that far would be "easy draws" in the knockout round. 2014 World Cup is the United States' chance to demand respect by making a deep run and I'm extremely excited for it. As far as chemistry, talent, and overall will and desire to succeed, this honestly feels like the squad that could very well do that.Comment

I think I read this AM that instead of putting the grass over the artificial turf they just put it over the concrete. I hope that doesn't lead to any injuries.YNWAComment
