re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Exactly. It was only yesterday when they got a lot of praise for being transparent about the retention funds, as they should. Then this happens and they lose all of that goodwill they just earned. It's crazy. Like I said before, either put ALL of your roster rules up on the website, or put NONE of them. You can't put some and leave some out.Comment

It's no wonder FM can never get the MLS contract system and rules quite right.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
The point is moot anyway....Portland was not going to put up $41M for him, and Seattle was second on the order.
Should be announced tonight before the game.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Yeah that's the issue with the system, Portland could easily play hardball and prevent the transfer from happening by refusing to trade the right to their rival if that was how it worked in this situation.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
It's easier for Portland to be upset over the process than admit they wouldn't have had the money to make this deal.Comment

Roster for Bosnia Friendly
U.S. ROSTER BY POSITION – Detailed Roster
GOALKEEPERS (3): Cody Cropper (Southampton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton)
DEFENDERS (7): John Anthony Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Michael Orozco Fiscal (Puebla), Michael Parkhurst (Augsburg), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers)
MIDFIELDERS (8): Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Roma), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Danny Williams (Reading)
FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders FC), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Bobby Wood (1860 Munich)
---
Largely European based roster. Tim Ream is a surprise, I think he's only on the roster for cover though, and not like he's really doing much with Bolton. He needs to go find some first team minutes somewhere as soon as possible. Parkhurst needs to do the same as well because he is a reliable second or third option at right back. Nothing special but he was solid at the Gold Cup. Cody Cropper ended up being the U-20 player they called in. Was hoping for Yedlin. Evans was called to get more minutes against top competition in my opinion, and Johnson due to the fact we don't have too many options to play wide. Interested to see who Klinsmann plays out wide and at left back. I think JK could play Corona in the Dempsey role with Eddie being one of the wide players or pair Eddie-Jozy up top going with a 4-4-2.Comment

Dear lord, be gentle on this back line we're putting in front of you, Edin.Comment

Ha, that's what I'm thinking. Dzeko would have been a great test for Gonzalez and Besler. I expect some friendlies against potent strikers in 2014 though to really test those two out.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Yedlin needs to work on his game a lot more before he gets called up to the full national team.
I'm relatively happy with the call ups, to be honest. It's good for Cropper to get some time around the full team, he's going to be a beast.Comment

Yedlin has great potential, but my lord is he rough around the edges. Obviously to be expected because of his age but his call up is coming... just not anytime relatively soon I'd imagine/hope.YNWAComment
