It's a problem in perpetuity with the USMNT.

Doesnt mean Berhalter should stay, though. Hes awful even for USMNT standards. Bruce, Jurgen and Bob all have done significantly better jobs in their tenures and all would be immediate and substantial upgrades to Berhalter.

We actually beat the US and the match wasn't even on TV in Canada despite it being played in Toronto. Figures.

A big problem that has happened over the few years is that we’ve totally lost our identity. How many times do we come out and look disinterested? Where is our old fight. We’ve had far worse rosters look so much better than this.

It won’t happen but Jesse Marsch would be the absolute perfect manager for the US. He’s doing really good things with a bunch of kids at Salzburg. There’s a video out there of his halftime talk in their CL match vs Liverpool a few weeks ago. They came out and TOOK it to LFC to tie it up before finally succumbing to the talent. Honestly probably the most impressed I’ve been with a Liverpool opponent in the past two years. Check it out. THAT’S what we need. A big part of national team management is getting guys to be a motivated unit in short order. Berhalter is not that guy. I have no idea what we’re even trying to be with him.

Christian Roldan getting as much play time as he does will be a mystery for the ages.

Not scapegoating or anything, everyone was bad today, but for Roldan this wasn’t a bad night, this is his regular performance level every game he plays for the US.

I would genuinely give all the players a 1 out of 10. Except maybe the keeper. He gets a 2. This was easily a worse performance than TNT. We actually had a semblance of attack in that game and both their goals were total flukes. TNT didn’t even play well. Tonight not only did Canada outwork is for all 90 minutes, which is inexcusable for any US team. But the US players played like a steaming pile of caca. Have you ever seen a group of supposed professional soccer players pass that poorly across the board? I was dumbfounded.

Alright, I think I got it out of my system now. We better ****ing smash them in the return fixture and do the same against Cuba to win the group.

                Here’s my thing

If you’re in a toxic relationship you get out, especially if your significant other continues to show worrying signs. Having someone else lined up immediately shouldn’t deter you.

                We need a slump buster.

So, this is something I've been thinking about, a lot. Not just Roldan, but the likes of Trapp, Lovitz, Ream, Baird, Arriola, etc, need to just not be with the team anymore. It's a shame we don't know what the team looks or performs like with a fully healthy roster, as I'd imagine players like Tim Weah, John Brooks, and Tyler Adams would make this squad better overall, but I don't have the feeling that we'd surround them with the best. Tim Ream should be Miles Robinson, or John Brooks when healthy, Daniel Lovitz should be Sergino Dest, but we seem to have possibly bungled his recruitment to the USMNT. Trapp and Roldan should be Adams and Pomykal, and even if Adams is injured, we should look at someone like Duane Holmes or Hassani Dotson instead of Trapp. Baird and Arriola should be some combination of Weah, Amon, and Ebobisse. Michael Bradley isn't getting a pass either, though I still believe he has something to offer in the way of intangibles, which is something I cannot say for literally anyone else on the chopping block right now(Aside from Guzan).

****, man, call Chris Gloster instead of Tim Ream, idc, I just don't want to see Tim Ream again.

Also, as I look at Earnie Stewart and Gregg Berhalter's history I think Stewart has too much influence in picking squads, and allocating players. I also think he's doing a terrible job as GM or Sporting Director, or whatever his made up position is that I'm only gonna get more mad about when I read USSF's 990. Berhalter seems to have a closer history of integration of younger players, while Stewart loved to rely on steady hands of experience.

Zardes and Morris are whatever to me, I'd love to see Sebastian Soto or Mason Toye get a shot. I don't think either of them should see the field over Sargent at this point though. I'm willing to ride the Sargent hype train in to the ground.

Yeah I like Soto, saw him a lot during the U20 games this summer. We need to cap him before he switches allegiances on us.

Tbf it’s not the young kids that are the problem, it’s that whole group of mid-20s and up players. Morris, Zardes, Trapp etc.

Our best players in most positions are under the age of 21, but we aren’t using half of them. That’s our biggest issue right now I think, other than coaching obviously.
